With the fight that Dela Hoya had over Pacquaio, he was almost merely standing in the ring. do you think he was bought?

i dont think dela hoya would be submitting himself in such humiliation(the defeat and the swolllen face and all) even for a million dollars.dela hoya was not bought...pacquaio was younger and faster so u can almost expect the result.

I don't think Oscar Dela Hoya was, as you put it, bought. His fight last weekend with Manny Pacquiao was a very good example of all-out preparation combined with a very well executed strategy. More than that, I think Dela Hoya lost because he did not have the proper mindset. Proof of this is an interview a few days before their bout wherein The Golden Boy stated that he was concerned about Pacman's speed, among other things. And so one of his concerns eventually lead to his loss. Oscar could not keep up maybe because he was focused on trying to figure out how his opponent could just dart in and out and hit him like that. Manny, on the other hand, probably just focused on what he had set out to do. Pacquiao also showed that he is as smart as he is skillful. A few days after the match, Freddie Roach, Manny's head mentor, revealed that their main strategy was for Pacquiao to land the punches and quickly get out of the way to avoid any counter punches which The Golden Boy was known for; and that was exactly what Pacman did. Again, perfect execution of a great strategy.

Dela Hoya had only one thing at stake on that round even tho there was no title belt. it's his "pride". your a veteran boxer where everybody knows your name. hold a billion dollar company. would you sell your reputation for a couple of millions?

I don't think so. He was beaten and battered so that's more than enough to convinced me that he's not bought. He could have given Manny Pacquiao a hard time to make it less obvious if ever he is bought. Manny Pacquiao just sucked the life out of him. His punches weaken Oscar dela Hoya's body making him react slower to Pacquiao's punches. He would love to get another round but he's too beaten so the cornermen stopped the fight.
