TV is not necessity..nor is sports for a man to live. he needs food house hospital, buses, cars but definitely not TV .. but then if u want to be with world u need to know whats happening and if ur a human u must play and watch sports.. unless u watch a game , the game wont have any money and what incentive would it have for a young kid to take up a game if it has no money and fame.. and since life of a sportman is so short, at most 10 yrs of active earning so money has to be good.. it is therefore necessary for everyone to watch sports not only Cricket but what ever game interst him or her and since in many parts of world this game has huge following so y not watch it. In subcontinent it is like religion. Cricket brings Indians and Pakistanis more closer than all the faith building methods both govt try..so i guess it is necessary to watch it in ur spare time

It is not necessary to watch any kind of sport for that matter. This is just one form of relaxation. people need at least 1 passion to live by. If cricket can be that why not. It's also a great conversation starter, so if want to make more friends, cricket can certainly be an icebreaker.
