I am getting married next month, any advice?

I am an Indian getting married to an American next month (10th Jan 2009). My parents, relatives, and many of my friends are against the marriage and making me scared because dicorces are more in America. I am from a small village in India. I don't have a good knowledge of American culture and don't know the common likes and dislikes of Americans. Is there anyvbody who can help me?

I don't know about the culture of America, but I can give you a little advice. Just remember that marriage has it's ups and downs. There will be hardships that the two of you will encounter as a couple and later on as a family, especially that you you have different culture. Just be strong and fight for your love. The most important thing is you have each other and together face those hardships. Also, there should always be love, trust, communication and respect for each other. Good Luck and Best Wishes!
