Still it is a puzzle to me that what are the criteria that makes a discussion hot? Draws over 100 responses in 24 hours time.
I have seen many common discussion getting lots of responses and comments and some time very serious discussions are not getting any responses at all or only few.
Is their any specific criteria like number of friends, choosing the topic, key words, time of the day it is posted, etc. counts to draw responses? Or something like one person having many accounts???

Neither do I but I too have seen these discussion and wondered about them. One mylottr Ronreyes ,who usually has hot discussion created a discussion in which he gave some pointers.I have tried a few of them but they dont always work for me.I think there is really no set method or technique to it .I can suggest though that the time of day helps, commenting the responses and having many friends seem to help but there are not a certainty

I think there is no technique, I seldom create topics. I just created two topics that ended up with 30 responses and nothing went beyond that.
