I haven't tried to sit beside the lion. But I tried to sit beside the tiger. It's in a park. I sat close to the tiger to take photos. Frankly, I felt a little scared to it. The first photo is me and the tiger http://www.yourhero.net/photo2.htm

Okay I will get a living cub to my home ,if I can, which seems difficult due to forest laws .I will only do it after taking permission lol

Lions aren't violent, they normally kill for food but after eaten then they will not attack again..though if you sit with a wild lion then you will be attacked as you are a stranger on their territory, just like you wouldn't want a theif in your home or you would to protect it...is the same with a Lion as they will see us the same way and we have to be aware they willattack uu..so no I wouldn't sit with a wild lion but will with tame ones...littleowl

I'm surprised to read every one saying lions are not voilent , okay I understand killing for food , but I don't understand why they dont allow anybody to even pass by them , every two living beings were strangers initially , how would they know each other without allowing one to visit other .
But I'm sure lions cannot use mylot lol

Lions are predators. It's just in their nature. I might sit with one that was used to humans if a trainer was right there, and if it were a cub I definitely would.

Dear Friend
But I think GOD should not have made lions with wild nature so that they may not kill innocent people ..
ohh no don't do that trainer may not be able to save you yes
Sitting with a lion's cub is not a problem though lol

Hi Ganesh, Lions are violent and thats the reason they are termed as wild animals. Not only a lion, tigers, cheetahs etc are also violent, can you go and stand before a tiger? Its because not that they hate human beings but because they are created like that. There are many other wild animals and animals before whom we can't at all stand, they are infact scared of human beings and behave like that. Sitting before a lion can be easily told in words, and to prove it requires lots of guts.

Yes, I don't think, anybody can sit with a fully alert lion except, perhaps with pet or circus animal. I think, all carnivorous animal are violent by nature as every other animal, including humans are either their food or perceived as competitor.

We lions don't hate human beings: we think humans are mostly ok when they don't meddle in our affairs and our environment. But humans are very unpredictable animals which is why sometimes lions attack them in self-defense. Humans also make a convenient snack if they get too close to us at lunch time :)
I actually came to wonder why people are so violent towards animals, nature and each other and I can only come to the conclusion that humans are frightened of everything that they don't fully understand and control.
Including themselves.

Hi Gamesh44,
I am sorry but I don't agree with you that lion are violent, Lion should left alone in their own envirement where they belong, they should not have been caged in the first place, would you like to be caged? its people that is violent, look how they treat animals, they are cruel, why would you like to sit beside a lion, they just want to be left alone and not bothered with, they want to be free.

Dear Friend
lol but I'm also sorry to say that lions are voilent , if someone want to test walk few meteres away from them and one can see lions are voilent or not .
Okay I won't allow anybody to sit with them , but why lions don't want anybody to pass by them , that shows lions are not only voielent but also they hate living beings .... not just human beings lol
Thanks for your response and such a nice information...!

See, first of all you don't know about animals.. and thats why you are telling that Lions are so violent......
Lions are afraind of men, they thought that you will catch them for your prey.... immediately when you see lion or any other wild animals, they try to escape from you with a great sound..... but, when you are shouting, they thought that, yu are attacking them and for the protection, they are attacting you.... this is the thing happens in the forest.....

Hello my friend Ganesh44 Ji,
First of all , I congretulate you for your '999' post figure. Well, as you say, I have so far nevr dared to sit near Lion, also never thought of that. Only I have witnessed this senerio at Circus, where Lions are trained. They are wildest and voilent among all animals, it is in there nature so people are afraid to go there. But if tamed, they do not harm them. May God bless You and have a great time.

I can't understand why you think they are violent. Please see this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adYbFQFXG0U
It is one of the most viewed on youtube. They are lovely beings just like the rest of the animals. It's only that they are wild animals. And good for them they attack if we try to get too close. That way mankind don't influence their territory too much.
