Can't mylot make this two little addition......

just it does in cases of total no. of comments and total no. of friends.
What could be the reason that they haven't implemented this so far?
OK, it could be because of the fact that our discussions get deleted intermittently because of reporting, in which case, the number keeps reducing. But we don't mind the reflection on our page, do we?
Want your opinion.

It would definitely be great to be able to see an accumulating tally of things like this. We can see the total number of friends we have on our own profile page already, but having to count through BR's for example can be really frustrating. They gives us a total tally of friends comments too, so I don't see why it would be such a difficult thing to add?

Why not Riya? May be you are not interested but there are many like me who want to know the numbers. It could well give an overview of our performance here!

Not a bad idea, rather quite a wonderful idea. I understand you mean to say that 'the total number of new discussions, which we started', if it is so, it would give a clear picture, how much discussions on an average, we start in a month or so. Showing the total number of best responses, will also tell lot about the member and his/her overall ratings. Many like YOU, who always post meaningful and interesting responses will be benefited by it. If a member gets large number of best responses, it shows his/her mettle and skills in drafting the responses.Hopefully, mylot people will look into your suggestions.

Indeed deepak. It makes bit easier for us. Many times I try to figure out the no. of discussions I have started but cannot get any clue! The total number of best responses would act as an incentive to get going. It's certainly a motivation.

Your both the suggestions are very sound and good. It would be helpful for us to know how many new discussions did we start. To know the number of Best Responses awarded to a particular member would also give others a idea about that member and the way she/he conducts herself/himself on mylot. If someone has large number of best responses, it means, he/she is really a thorough and very good writer and thinker.

I am not sure I have never really thought about it. I am sure they are just trying to do the minimal they can go to make us happy. They don't want a bunch of work added to their plate.

It's a question i have pondered about for some time now. Especially as a mylotter goes up the ladder in terms of the number of discussions started and the best responses recieved. It gets a little irritating and monotonous to do a manual count page wise and then add up a total. As to why they have not implemented it, remains puzzling. I think they should. It's nice to know how many discussions i have started and knowing the number of best responses adds as a motivator. In fact going one step further it may even be a good idea to know the details as they have presented the interest rankings by means of a graph or a table.
The only thing is with anything that is competetive in nature tends to attract or create an illwill in the minds of some , but those are few in number and will not create an impact at all. I for one certainly second the idea Mimpi.

I have been thinking about it for long and even mentioned this in many responses. I really think, it would be good idea. Even though it wouldn't be a great one generally but for each individual it would be easy to keep tab over his/her progress - it could well act as a motivator.
In yahoo answers, we have similar things where we have a watchlist and could get to see all the total numbers, including best answers. There we can even find a percentile representation of our best answers as to number answered or started. The overview is so helpful!

If both the choices are implemented, then i must count X+1 for the number of best responses.
Note: X being the number of BR's received by me so far,
+1 denotes that the one i receive for this response..

Yes, we would have a fair idea of how any discussions are being deleted and then we would get another opportunity to start a new discussion and fight to fight with mylot.

I'd like a few changes myself. I dunno if that'd be my first change, ut anything to make the site more informative and easier to use...what I want is to be able to search through the interests...
I guess if we keep discussing it maybe it will happen.

I completely agree with you...in fact I was about to generate a similiar discussion. These features would be really helpful.
