I'll recommend these 4 books. they're one whole series, so please DO, DO read them in order: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn by STEPHENIE MEYER. the movie 'twilight' is also out the cinemas already. i'm just wondering, have you watched it yet?

yes i have watched twilight. but u haven't read the book (poor poor me) everybody says the book is better. Well, whenever a book is being made into a film, the book is always better. What do you think? I did have a chance to find the twilight series cause everything is sold out and i dont want to buy the hard bound versions.they're heavy!

If you like humor and light reading, try the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella. They're light reading and humorous and really geared toward the 20-something market I think, although I happened to listen to my young niece's copies on audio while I was traveling with her and I thought they were really cute and well-written as well. They've been out for a long while, so you should be able to find them in the local library. If not, you could probably find them on amazon.com for about $1.50 each or so, plus shipping. Ebay may have them for even cheaper than that, but you'd have to check these sites to know for sure. The plot involves a totally self-involved but likeable and funny young woman with light romance and humor. Pretty good plot as well, at least in the ones I'm familiar with..although that's only Shopaholic and Shopaholic's Sister. But I imagine they're all along the same lines as these two.

Hi, If it is like the other two I know about in this series, I think you will like it. Those are cute stories and the main character is young, full of life and funny. I liked the two I know about in this series, but I think young people especially will really like these. Happy reading.

Hi, kukaisiton. Welcome to myLot. I highly recommend the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series. Fun, easy reading with fabulous character development. You will be drawn into this series and already thinking of getting the next one before you finish the one you are reading. Humorous, and fun.

I am also a girl in my twenties who likes to read so maybe you'll be interested in some of my recommendations. For the romance genre I will recommend everything written by Suzanne Brockmann, but specifically her Troubleshooters Series. These books are action/suspense romance novels about Navy SEALS. If you like a little action they are great, but my favorite part of these novels are the great and realistic characters that Brockmann creates. They can also be really funny too. If you do decide to read them, then I suggest that you read them in order, starting with The Unsung Hero, because some of them have continuous story arcs that span several books. I also recommend books by Margaret Atwwod. I have read The Handmaid's Tale and I am currently reading The Robber Bride. The Handmaid's Tale is set in a future America where the constitution was suspended at first temporarily and then permanently, and the freedom to is replaced with the freedom from. This is a great novel, although I will admit that I was pretty scared of this view of the future. The Robber Bride is also interesting because it is about a woman named Zenia, who ruined three other women's lives by stealing their boyfriends/husbands. So far it has been good because it is told from the three different perspectives of the women who met Zenia. These are my recommendations for good books to read.

'Count of Monte Cristo' and 'Gone with the wind' are two good books. They are very good books and interesting. 'Count of Monte cristo' is about a sailor who got betrayed by friends and the story tells us how much he struggled in life and at the end, he becomes successful. Quite an interesting story.

Atonement book cover - Atonement by Ian McEwan
One book I recently read, which took my breath away, is Atonement by Ian Mcewan. It's about a 13-year-old girl who falsely accuses a friend of the family of a crime. The story begins in 1930s England. When I started it, I couldn't put it down. Afterward, I saw the movie with Kiera Knightly. I'm not sure I would have followed it as well if I hadn't read the book first. Hope you enjoy the book as well.

Hi, If you could be more specific in your choice of genere then probably it helps. Well but John grisham's The Rainmaker, Jewel by Dannille Steel, or any particular one from the great Charles Dickens like Little Dorrit, A Tale of Cities..... are worth reading. Cheers, Bodhi

You know, it's funny that you mentioned Tom Robbins. I'm currently reading Jitterbug Perfume by him. Anyhow, to contribute, I have a large list of suggested reading material, but I'll try and keep it relatively short. In fact I can make this quite simple, any book by any of following authors. Chuck Palahnuik, Robert Heinlen, David Eddings, Irvine Welsh, Tom Robbins, Gary Jennings, or James Clavell. Word of warning, many of these authors such as Palahniuk and Welsh have very unique and twisted veiws of the world and may not be at all easy to read. My suggestion for any recomended reading material is to check out a couple pages before you actually commit to buying. Some other books that I have enjoyed Are "A Clockwork Orange"-Anthony Burgess, "One Flew Over The Cukoos Nest"-Ken Kessey and "The World According to Garp"-John Irving. This list isnt't just for the O.P, so any one looking for something to read have at it. And of course I'm always looking for new material myself, so if you enjoyed something, please share it.

thanks for your word of warning. i am also quite doubtful if i like palahnuik's work because they're so ..different. But i loved the fight club movie though.. anyway, because of your response, i'm gonna try to find tim robbins. he's becoming a little popular here in my replies page. thanks again!
