I'm going to give somebody unknown a Christmas present!

Last week I got a flier from a friend of mine. A charity foundation is looking for people who are willing to give a Christmas present to somebody they don't know.
When I first read the flier I thought "Oh, well, I'm a bit short with cash, I have to think about it". But the other day I saw an old man singing in the dark on a central street. I was like "It's freezing outside and you're singing for people on the street?" and the man smiled and said to me : "Well, I have two children both in school. They have no food at home and I'm sick. Nobody is giving me a job because I have only one leg and I can barely see. My wife's income is not enough"
I felt so sorry for that man so I gave him some bread and a carton of milk. I can buy another, thought to myself.
So, I guess I can buy a Christmas present for somebody I don't know. I can make somebody happy.
How about you? Do you do charity often or just during holiday season?

I give to charity throughout the year but when the Christmas holiday comes around, our Church "adopts" poor families and we donate Christmas gifts, food and money so that the family can have a nice holiday season. On Christmas Eve, a group of Parishoners take the gifts to the homes of the families and brings back pictures for us all to enjoy. It's great that you decided to do this. This may be the only gift that this person will get for the holidays at all.

While,i have only say you are a good man.Helping others who is suffering difficulty is seem to be chaity,you give food to the poor man after hearing his story,you help him at that time,but how can you help him forever?It is the problem of the whole society,the goverment should do something to this situation,not only help this poor man,but olso help others who have the same experience whith this man.I think you may send a e-mail to your goverment who can solve this problem.
