Welcoming new users

I must say that I'm a little disappointed with mylot. Just moments ago, I discovered that there are more limitations for newcomers out here than ways for having fun. Now that my rank is less than 200, I can't use emoticons (as they call it "MyLot Code"). Moreover, they won't let me paste contents, least I am a "spammer." This was not the kind of welcome that I was expecting. The only reason I'm still writing this and still here is because they potentially pay. This is the only reason that makes me tick. Else, I would have cancelled my account already. But honestly, they shouln't be so harsh to newcomers. Makes us feel like freshers at college.

Sorry you feel that way but we do get spammers here and that is one way to discourage them. Also it gives you something to strive for. I'd say hang in there and keep posting and you will be there soon enough.

Actually this isn't the only site that does that. Over on MoraChat you can't post links until you have 200 posts and you can't join the 'up close and personal' forum until you have 200 posts. Anyway, don't worry, you will get there soon enough!

I think it is just right and appropriate, you must earn it before getting and having it. If you just concentrate and have fun in making discussions and responding to other members then you won't notice it that you already such that number of posts. It's not that hard to reach 100, 200 and 500 posts as long as you are enjoying it.

Yea...it's somewhat hard on a new comer, but you get to get used to it along the way and enjoy it eventually when you are able to use those restricted features. Cheer up!
