How great are you with your computer?

Yesterday I had to send an email saying that I am hopeless with my computer. I tried to download some information but it didn't work. I wanted two chapters that I had paid for from a travel book on the Internet. The web assistant was really kind and emailed me the the information. I thought that I had lost all my down load chances in my desperate attempts at getting the information.
I can use the Internet and email people, that is all. How about you? How great are you with your computer?

Well I earn my living now helping others with their computer so I know that you are in good company! haha Loads of people have similar problems with this wonderful intuative Windows system. Is is so easy, they say. Hmmmmm - I don't know about that.
Some of my clients get to places in Windows that I didn't even knew existed and they have no idea how they got there and even less idea how to get back! haha

You are so clever to help people with their computers. For me the world of computers was like a mine field. Nine years ago I didn't know how to turn a computer on. Slowly I learned and two years later I felt fine taking my class in the ICT suite for a lesson. One of my friends kept deleting all his emails by accident. I didn't have the knowledge to help him. You talk to people that are hopeless with computers like me.

I pretty much know a lot about my computer though there are things that i should leave to computer programmers and technicians. I know how to maintain and speed up my computer. I know how to installed hardwares except processors because i think they're too sensitive and i don't want to take risk. Internet is a breeze.

You sound much more knowledgeable than me when it comes to computers. My computer is slow and months ago I phoned my Internet service provider and asked how I could speed it up. For about £50 I bought extra memory. It still works slowly. I am useless at downloading hardware.

I am alright with my computer. I can turn it on and connect to the internet besides that I really couldn't do anything else. If it wasn't working I definately couldn't fix it.

I'm pretty good with computers (I work with computers for my job). I know a lot about web design (CSS, XHTML, Javascript, etc) as well as programming (C, Unix, etc), and computer hardware/software.

I'm hopeless. At my age, I never even had the use of a calculator at school or college. We had a subject called mental arithmetic, when I was in primary school. W\hen I need some computer advice, I take my laptop to work and get one of my young colleagues to teach me what I want to know. I guess I get about 5% - 10% usage of what I should on my computers. However, I'd be lost without them.

I"m ok with the computer. Usually I get or find what I want, although I have been frustrated a few times - that's normal LOL
With something we buy it is usually possible to get it even if we make a mistake.

I like to think there's a fair bit I know about my computer. I can get through most problems that it goes through (and those are many, considering I tinker around with it lots). But there are things that I'm completely hopeless at. Then again, I think it's just lack of being introduced to things such as programming that make it so confusing. Still, I find it loads of fun to disassemble executable files and read through their codes, just to see how every line is ingenious in its own.
I can turn it on (hurrah!) and run most things without error (and if there dare be an error, it shalt be smited with mine hammer, the infamous ctrl+alt+del :D), so yeah I think I'm good with a computer :)

in the last year or so, I've become obsessed by my computer, and I mean obsessed like: I hardly turn it off, I spend about 15 hrs a day in front of it, I take it apart once a week to clean it, part by part :D my mum says I’m going to die in front of it...but who gives a s***, lots of coffee, lots of coke and all the time in the world at it and I'm happy :D

In my case... i know a lot of thing that an average person knows about computers... but i am not one of those geniuses who can really play knows everything there is to know about computer hardware and software... i think my knowledge is enough to get me by... and i am still in the process of learning other things...

Hello maximax. I am not very great with my computer, but it is true indeed that I have been learning a lot while using it. I am sure that all of us will be great masters of computers so long as we use and learn new things about computer. Yes? Happy Christmas Eve, dear friend.

I am well with my computer, but the only time I have problems with my computer is when a programs are not working. Whenever a site is not working, I have to close the site with a following program check-up before starting a new program. My computer is almost a year old, so actually I haven't had any real trouble with. Although I have computer maintenance skills, I can fix my computer whenever it has a problem.

I'm like you. When it comes to downloading anything or doing something different than
I am used to doing, I am lost. I only started working on the internet about two years
ago and I don't know a lot about it yet. I only work in my email box, reading emails for
money, and I work in mylot, but that is about it.
I do know how to use word and excel but not that great. I do my accounting books through
excel, I am self employed and have to do my own books. But I get my daughter to help me
a lot because sometimes I don't know how to do a formula and I get frustrated if I try
and it doesn't work.
So I am getting a little bit better, but I need to take some time and explore and try
different things. Oh yeah, I recently learned how to take pictures and put them on the
computer. But I don't want to do it too often because I am afraid I will screw something
up. I also learned how to change my avatar here although that took me about 9 months to
figure out how.
Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend,
Have a good mylotting day, Chris

I would say that I am between good and very good on my computer.
I know how to pretty much do everything. However I get nervous if there is a virus like sort of thing or anything then I am afraid if I touch something wrong I will screw up everything so I usually ask someone else for help.
