When we were growing up, we always did this the day after Thanksgiving, and I still think this is a Good choice. Makes it only right to do so, as it is the next Holiday approaching.

The tradition in our family was that NO decorations for Christmas should appear before Christmas Eve. That day was always spent decorating the house. My father would cut a branch from a yew tree for our Christmas tree, and that was decorated in the evening. No presents ever were visible till Christmas morning - and we had to wait till after lunch to open them (except for the small gifts in our stockings).

We put our Christmas tree and other decorations up after the 1st of December. October we decorate for Halloween, November we decorate for Thanksgiving.

traditionaly you are suppose to put them up either on thanksgiving or the day after and your not suppose to take them down until new years day! because if you do it's bad luck.. but that's only if you believe in it! i just hate it when people put up decorations before thanksgiving because that is a holiday too people decorate for!

We like to put up our Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving so we can enjoy them as much as possible before Christmas.
