Are you returning items back to the store because you needed the money? It was the wrong size or color? Or did you have a change of mind or maybe was talked into returning it because you didn't need it. I had to return a grocery item back to the store today because it had an expired sell date-it was smoked salmon which expired 2 days before I brought it-Yuck! I also had to return some items back to home depot because they were exact supplies that we didn't use while doing some home improvement. I have never liked returning items back to the store, hate waiting in lines but these days I have to watch my budget and stop wasting.

I don't return any of what i bought, first i usually look for the expiration before i buy it, and then i make a list of what i need before going to the store so that i will get just what i needed. Happy mylotting to you.

I return things alot. I like to shop for clothes but don't like to take them and try them on before buying. So I do alot of returns that way. I also have made returns though because I have items that we didn't need but thought we did and I keep ALL reciepts so I have returned them for the money, as times right now are really tough. I have bought candles at our grocery store, saved the reciepts and 2 yrs ago when things were so tight I didn't know sometimes how I was gonna get food on the table and I went and returned the candles for the cash and bought food. I don't mind returning anything. I am not tooo proud to return things, I hate paying for something and then it just sits there and never gets used. I think it is a waste!

Hi yparson. As mush as possible I dont want to return items back to the store. I Last Christmas I received a winter jacket from my cousin that did not fit me nicely. I had to return it and change to smaller size unluckily that stock was sold out and I was so in a hurry that got no chance to look for some clothes or jacket that I could exchange for. I asked for a store card equivalent to the amount of the returned item that's valid for a year so I can purchase whenever I want to. I dont return items just because I needed the money. In fact Im planning to return a winter jacket again that I purchased last week because I found out it has a damage on the neck part, but I lost the reciept so Im not so sure if that store will accept it back.

i have never returned anything yet but sometimes i wish i could get a refund on some stuff that i bought on impulse! yes, you are correct about realizing the value of money and not being wasteful. I think I should keep these in mind at all times.

Well, I rarely return stuffs that I bought from the stores. Even if the items is not good, I just keep them or don't use them. I don't usually return. But, when it comes to costly items, I should return it (if it not works for me) since the prize of the item I bought is higher. In the last couple of months, I have returned a couple of item of that type. One I returned is a watch, which wasn't working very well and another one I returned recently is DVD player. But, when it comes to small things, I never return them.

I usually don't do that too often. Usually I get the correct size of product. However we have returned milk that had a very funny taste, bread that went bad before the expiration date, and bananas that rotted two days after we got them (and they were still green when we bought them!)
Usually we buy stuff online such as clothes. Many of the merchants I buy I noticed "free return" so they don't charge you the shipping. One merchant (eastbay) will give free exchange (such as defective, wrong size, etc) but for a return of the money they charge a 7 dollar processing fee. I've been satisfied with the items bought so I never really had to return them. If you do plan on returning it's always good to look at the return policy. Many stores now only give you a "store credit" after a certain time frame which could suck if you don't want to buy anything else in the store.

I have returned items in the past but I haven't done it in a long time. I just don't like doing it. Usually even when I think I want to return something, somehow I never get around to actually doing it. lol

Hey!
I always return the items - I don`t like, I`m not satisfied with beacuse of any reasons. I had so many problems for instance with web cameras... it`s a great thing that I could return these items! (Not to mention the greenish beef I had once :) )

Not often. We had to return some gadget as it was the wrong size; a bunch of bananas that rot within a day, and then some cookies that were harder than rock, though they had not expired yet.
I don't like returning items too; my hubby does all this.

I barely ever return something to the store. I always try something on before I buy it when I'm out or if I buy something online and it doesn't fit right or something else I save it and give it to a friend who'll like it and it'll fit them. Returning is such a hassle, unless it's something big and expensive like a TV or something. then YES I would go return it if I didn't like it.

I usally dont do alot of returns unless something was really expensive. We live a bit from town so I either throw it away or give it away. I also hate waiting in the lines to returns things. It used to be such a drawn out process also to return things, but now it seems its pretty simple. I like that you can return your reciept a few day after you bought something if it went on sale. I have done that at Christmas time in the past. Makes you angry when you buy something and the next day it goes on sale! I understand watching the budget, you have too.
