I have tried everything! My husband had a malware virus on his computer a while back. I fixed it removed all traces but now he cannot sign into any secured sites. He can surf but not sign in. I have re downloaded IE to see if there was a corrupted file and even tried to reset the computer to an earlier time before the problem started but it will not restore. Anyone have any suggestions? Its only when signing into any secured sites ie: Mail, Myspace, Yahoo ect. Can anyone help me?

Unable to restore usually means his computer has been compromised even if all traces of the virus have been removed. This statement is made based on personal experience. If you have tried other browsers like Firefox, Opera and Chrome without any success, and a lowered security setting does not change everything, then you may have to format the hard disk. Before that try using another anti virus software on another computer.
all the best,

I think you are right ive dropped the security settings down with the same problem i downloaded another virus program and scanned it and it found nothing so i'm leaning toward the virus has corrupted a much needed exe file and reformatting is almost the only thing i hadn't tried thanks :)

Yeah I recommend downloading Advanced Windows Care and using it often. It also helps to speed up your computer, and you can configure the start up options with it, which makes this task very easy. Also I would recommend using a virus cleaner on top of the anti-virus software, especially if it is free. I use MultiVirus Cleaner 2008. It cleans up all traces of the virus. I know you have already done this, but you may want to try other software?

Make sure you are using IE7 (Run Windows Update in Custom Mode). Rest all your Internet Zones to Default, make sure it is accepting cookies, and make sure you check "Use TLS 1.0", "Use SSL 2.0", and "Use SSL 3.0" in the advanced tab of IE settings.

I use Internet Explorer myself and I have no problems with it. I'm not totally sure what this is but I will tell you what I do. After every Internet session involving Internet Explorer I go into disk cleanup and get rid of all the temporary Internet files. I also go into Internet Options and delete the cookies as well as browsing history. I don't know if you do this but with computers, anything is worth a try, it's all about trial and error, trying something to see what works and so forth. Good luck, I hope you are able to sort this out. Andrew
