I'm new to websites, at least trying to make money from mine that I have right now. Depending on your topic, you can try to find a forum related to it and get to know the people there, with your website in your siggy. That way, you are involved with a group that is already "into" what you are selling or discussing on your website. It's one way I have found in order to get true interest.
