I admire Barack Obama becoming the first african american president in the USA history. But sad to say I didn't vote because I wanted to see how people would act after the election was over. It didn't matter what president we received people would not still change within theirself. I was playing poker online the other day having fun listen to one of my Marvin Sapp songs (gospel singer), and this dude got mad at me because I won the pot and he used a racial slur calling me the N word and saying I was a Obama fan. I didn't get mad and lash back at him I simply told him I wasn't a Obama fan and I didn't vote. He then ask me why I told him it didn't matter to me because the people in the world need to change, a president can't change the world he's only there to make decision. And he was surprise by my answer, he said he didn't think of it that way. I told him to pray and things would be ok and I forgive him. The people need to change, because if we don't we going to destroy ourself.

I agree with you that people have to change themselves. I look at myself everyday and think about what I can do to change as an individual. I have signed up to go to a meeting this Sunday about taking action at my local Congressional office. I was excited when Barack signed up to run for the election because I thought that he should before he did. My son and I witnessed him in a speech in May 2007, and it was like a life changing moment because I had my son there and it was like showing him that he has other options. For the African-American community for a long time the only thing children seem to pay attention to are the basketball, football stars or the rappers and they want to make it. At the age I was a child, the Cosby show was still airing as one of the best shows and the parental models on that show was a doctor and lawyer. I had a dream to become something like that. I am now working inside of public education, making a difference everyday. Its all up to you to be the change agent and when you begin to change, other people take sight of it and will begin to change as well or they will back out of your life because they don't know how to deal with it.
