Can Anyone Help Me with Facebook???

I am actually not a techie nor am I someone who would like posting pics of me online. However, I do have a friend who, just very recently, made me an account in Friendster. Now, he is bugging me to do the same on Facebook. Can anyone pls tell me more about Facebook? I know I can actually get some answers from the website itself, but I really would like first-hand information especially from those who have experienced it already - not as teh developers of the website but rather as daily users of the program. How does it work? WHat does it do, really? Can I use it to make some extra cash on the side? What's your experience with Facebook? Is there anything I need to know before I join? Thanks.

I've been on facebook for a few months now and am still learning how to use it
I am not technology savvy either, but facebook can be fun. There are quizzes and apps among many other things...well, I think you should sign up and just find out for yourself and if you don't like it, you can always cancel your account.
