What topics generate the most money on Associated Content? I would like to know this. I am a writer for Associated Content. I only get paid around $3 for each article that they accept. I am very busy. I do not have time to read all the rules, but I did not know that they did not accept some reviews of websites, etc. Some people do GDI, though I do not understand. What article has made you the most money for an upfront payment? Which article has made you the most money overtime?

Upfront articles need to have a long shelf life for AC to offer an upfront payment. They will sometimes offer upfront payment for a current news related topic in their "Call for Content" area, but they will rarely pay for an article that will be old news in a couple of weeks. I've been paid upfront payment s for a variety of articles, from places to visit, to gaming sites (gambling) to hobbies and usually receive about $4-$5 for these articles. My best earning article was a Call for Content about a sporting event and my article must have been featured on their front page, because I received nearly 1,500 views the first week (along with a $4 upfront payment) That article now has almost 6,000 views and I still earn about 50 cents every month in views from it. I have been told that AC is really only looking to purchase articles they don't have much about, if you cover a subject that has been done several times before, it doesn't matter how well written it is... they won't offer you an upfront. Getting upfront payments are great, but I've received $10+ in a month for performance payments and those payments can be residual, as long as you can promote them. Good Luck with your writing!

I just went over the page views of all of my posted articles and there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to any of it. In terms of page views my top five articles are (out of a total 143,311 page views): MySpace Profile Editors - 25,934 ($5) Five Ice Breakers for Quelling First Date Jitters - 13,096 ($5) Hairstyles for Prom - 8,019 ($10) Comparison of Online Communities: MySpace, Facebook, LiveJournal, MyCyberSpace, and Xanga - 7,331 ($12) Shower Gift Ideas for the Second-Time Mom - 6,880 ($10) But...my highest upfront payment so far has been $13 for Careers for English Majors (2,224 views). My top two articles only received a bid of $5 each. So the amount of your upfront payment and the amount of performance bonus potential are not necessarily connected. Just because you get a low bid on an article doesn't mean you can't make up for it in performance bonus payments. It's all in how you promote your content once it is posted.

Thanks for the information. You must be really good! You get offers that are like 4 times mine, but I just started. This does kind of give me some information on what types of things I should write. Your idea on comparing MySpace, FaceBook, etc. was a very good one. How should I promote? I did not know you were supposed to. I guess that is why I do not have many views? Also do you do eHow?

I use MySpace to promote my work. I have a banner up on my profile that links directly to my profile and then once a month, or whenever I put up something new, I post a bulletin to my friends. I've also just recently started using Digg.com to bookmark some of my articles. Unfortunately, there isn't a section of AC where you can see where your traffic is originating from so I don't know if Digg is working. I haven't used eHow. I have enough trouble coming up with original ideas for one site - I can't imagine having accounts on AC, eHow, Helium...etc like some people do.

I have accounts with helium, AC and triond. In AC and helium, you could post the same articles as long as you wrote them,at triond, they have all to be original articles. You should get all you can from your articles as long as it is through legitimate means. Good luck and happy writing.

It varies on what pays the most for upfront payments. But for pageviews Sports is by far my biggest hitters.

Dating or relationship advice normally does well and have been my best performing articles. Health related articles, especially dealing with health foods, diets, or health benefits of junk food will perform well. Reviews of popular television shows. It's important to try to cover it from a unique angle without being too opinionated. Recent news stories normally do well if you submit under the News section.

Sure. If you fit all of the qualifications, you can get paid upfront for your articles. I have been paid upfront for around four articles. I am still a little fuzzy on the exact requirements for upfront payment, and some of mine get rejected. When they are accepted for upfront payment they usually generate in between $3-$4 for me, but I am quite rusty. Good Luck!
