Daydreamer2: Why do some people likes diamonds?

diamond is symbol of love 'hera hai sada ke liye' it not only enhance ur look but diamond and jewelries are good investments too,and ladies r very intelligent bye diamonds and jewelry they got security of future and beauty for ever

Diamonds are precious because they are not available in abundance. If they were available in abundance they woudl be really cheap. I somehow do not much treasure diamonds as it is too much to pay for a small little thing. A tiny diamond too costs so much and is hardly visible or noticable. I would much rather buy something which is more noticable for my wife.

I personally like diamonds, but not because they are a status symbol. I think diamonds are really beautiful. I also think of the process they have gone through... from a chunk of coal to becoming a beautiful gem is amazing. This is why they are used in engagement rings because they symbolize forever :)

I think some people just like them. While I believe most people like them as a status symbol and just want to show when they buy them. So, it depends on the person. Also, in American, it's just our culture to give diamond gifts and engagement rings.
