Why do you believe in God?

What makes you believe in God? Is there a single event, happening, or circumstance that makes you have the faith? How spiritual are you? Have you ever seen an angel? I just want to know what kind of experiences you have that have increased your faith in the Lord. Do you have relatives that almost passed away, and saw heaven only to awaken in real life? I am curious.

interesting topic.
I believe that every individual is subjected to a personal reality. We the human brain is capable of suggesting anything even in 3D with sophisticated sounds :)
"They think they saw this, they think they saw that." The human brain is really a wonder. With enough powerful suggestion, even many people can begin to "see" things that may not exist. This is how I see it.
The good news is that we are free to believe what we choose to believe. To any dear atheist I beg to ask: "wouldn't you want a chance to be hopeful for eternity?"
There is no grounded theory, but I believe that we are all spiritual beings given earthly life as a bonus. It seems from the standpoint of life, the after life seems to offer nothing. I believe earthly life is the opportunity to realize that pure spirituality is the perfect state. That those who never had a chance to have a full "earthly life" never really missed anything :)
would you agree?
