Would u go to a concert even if you werent all that familiar with the band? There's this concert next friday and I am tempted to go, but I dont really even know the band. I know a couple songs, not even half the words, but it is the type of music I like, so I am wondering if I would just feel out of place the whole time or if I'd like it at all. Have you done this before? Did u enjoy it?

Hi _sketch_,
I would go because if you don't go you would be asking yourself what if? you might enjoy yourself, one when I was single my ex boyfriend took me to a heavy metal concert, they were well known, it was Average White Band, and Rainbow, I think, whle he was enjoying himself I was getting eally fedup and it was too much noise for me, it was not my idea of music, I lkie easy listening.

I can understand how you feel. I always find myself in such situation. Concerts are definitely more enjoyable if you know all the songs of the singer/band. However, even if you don't, you can still enjoy as ultimately, it's the atmosphere that makes concerts so enjoyable.
I went to Gwen Stefanie's concert last year. I'm more familiar with her when she's in No Doubt than when she's solo. I still went anyway. Though I only know a few songs, I still enjoyed it.

Depends. I'll usually go if some friends are going with me, otherwise I won't. I went to a concert with my best friend this summer even though I wasn't that familiar with the group and it was a lot of fun. However, for me, it depends on the company, not really the music (as you can tell). xD
For example, last year I went to a rock festival where a bunch of great bands were playing. I enjoyed the beginning, but then my friends started being idiots and really ruined the entire night for me. That one concert ruined live performances for me because now I'm always skeptical whether I should go or not.
Anyways, to answer your question, it just depends on the type of person you are. Do you think you'll feel out of place? Or are you the type that will enjoy any music as long as it's of your preferred genre? I'm the type that feels out of place - mainly because I'm unsocial, though. If you think you're going to enjoy it I suggest you go. Don't miss out on a fun opportunity!
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Yeah, I've gone to concerts of bands I didnt know cuz friends talked me into it, but this one I was jut planning on going alone unless someone wants to go with me. I get what u mean about the company. I've had friends ruin outings (not just concerts) for me too. I dont really know how'd I feel, I dont know what kind of person I am. Sometimes I can be very sociable, but other times I am the complete opposite. Maybe it is a fun opportunity. I am starting to think that I should go. Hmmm...idunno..We'll see.

I always go to shows even if I don't know the band. Its a great way to find new music. I usually do this with indie bands, where there music isnt easily available online or in stores. It really gives me a good feel for what the artists are about.
If its a large mainstream act i might think twice. the ticket is probably expensive and you might be able to check out the band online before hand.

Well I somewhat know the band, so it's not completely a shot in the dark. And it's underground, so the ticket is only 7.50. Thanks. I think I will go.

Kind of depends on how much money your spending. If it is a cheap show and there are good people going you should have a good time regardless of whether or not the band is your favorite. I wouldn't cash out for a band that I didn't know, but then again you might go and decide you really like them. Seeing a band live can put a whole new perspective on their music.
