Give a list of your top five places you must visit in your lifetime. I know 5 is too small a number, but it would only mean it is the best place you would really want to see. Here's mine.
1. Jerusalem/Israel - I'm a history buff, and an amateur photographer as well. The things I want to take pictures of are places, artifacts, monuments, temples, streets, and ruins filled with history. I believe just walking in Jerusalem, will take me back in time.
2. Athens/Greece - The Glory that was Greece, and the architecture and philosophies that influenced modern western civilization as we know it. Just walking in the ruins of Acropolis will give me years of satisfaction. Plus I adore Greek food.
3. Pyramid of Giza/Egypt - It was always stated to be located in Cairo, but an Egyptian friend of mine from Cairo himself, told me it's a good 40 miles outside of Cairo and into the desert. I still will take that trip no matter what.
4. Rome/Italy - The ruins of the coliseum gives me the chills by just looking at it's picture. I would love to get on the same ground the Roman Emperors walked, not to mention the gladiators. Also Vatican is just a stones throw away! ;-)
5. Stonehenge/England - I believe it was used as a place for sacrifice, it would be cool just to see it. What's even cooler is if you get a chance to go under all those myriad tunnels that runs thru stonehenge. Sadly though, I heard it's not open for the public! :o(
My runner ups would be, Taj Mahal/India and Forbidden City/China.

Hi bradymoss. If I have the chance and money to travel my top five places that I want to visitin my lifetime are the following:
1)Paris-- I love to see the famous eiffel tower, shops along the street that are so cozy for lovebirds as they say and the popular museums in there. I want to check out the high priced fashion botiques and maybe buy a bag or purse and high heeled shoes.
2)Rome-- I want to see the Vatican City since I am a Christian. I've read that a lot of religious and beautiful places to be seen in there. Of course the famous gladiators too.
3)Holland--I want to see the creations of famous painters, the beautiful TULIPS that are so breath taking to see and the Red Light Distict. Not to mention the longest walking street or market with so much cheap stuffs to buy.
4) Bali, Indonesia-- This is the most awesome place to visit with my boyfriend, the place is so romantic and the sea is superb.
5) Dubai-- I saw this brochure of a very nice hotel. A friend of mine who went there for a holiday told me that the service was so fantastic. Interiors of the hotel is like a palace and hotel staffs treat you as prince and princess.
Maybe if mylot is still existing the time I travel to these places, I will post my experiences. Happy mylotting!

Hi joannejoj! Bali is a great place to visit, you should go there to relax and bathe in the sun. I'm not too sure you should go to Amsterdam's red light district, but if you really must go, be sure to bring a few friends along. It gets a bit scary, specially when it gets dark.

Stonehenge? Of all the places in the world, you want to come and see a pile of bricks in a field next to a busy road of noisy traffic? Each to their own I guess. lol
Mine would be:-
1. Grand Canyon. I have heard it is more spectacular than you can imagine or what might have been seen in pictures or on the TV so for me, it is a must.
2. Taj Mahal. I have a great desire to see this beautiful building. It conjures up ideas of romance and heartache and I can imagine that it is an emotional place to be.
3. Angel Falls. I love waterfalls and this one is quite tall! lol. I think it would be awesome to see all that water cascading down the hillside.
4. The Fjordds of Scandinavia. I have seen pictures of these ice sculptured pathways and rivers and they are beautiful! I would love to breath in the cold air looking out at ice canyons and mountains.
5. The Indian Ocean. I would love to feel this warm, clear, salty water lapping at my feet as I run into the ocean. Lovely!

1. China - Great Wall of China, Forbidden City and the Terracotta Warriors in Xian
2. Egypt - Pyramids and the Sphinx
3. Athens - famous ruins
4. Rome - famous ruins (just like Athens, there would be buildings and architectural structures of historical interest)
5. India - Taj Mahal

Hi lazebee. Since you like ruins, try Siem Reap in Cambodia, and visit the Angkor Wat ruins. It's an awesome place to be in, I'll post some pics if I have the time. Sadly though the condition of the place is not very good, and I don't think the Cambodian government cares about it, so be sure to visit before this great ruins are lost forever.

those are goodo list of places to visit. i don't have actually a list of places to see in my lifetime. but your list gave now ideas if ni case i will be possible be able to do visit those sites. in case i will be able to financially afford to go those places. they are quite good places to see. though i will say there are still so many places that are much beautiful too but historical value and also physical beauty then it will be good places to visit those you have mentioned. i love greece too. it seems to be a beautiful places with lots of historical places to see and also because of the history of greece. but it will be a dream as of now to be in those places. never know if i will get to realize my dream in the future.

I really love traveling and will be going to one of the places on my must visit list in January and that is Cape Town in South Africa. Here is a list of the top five places that I must see in my lifetime.
1. Machu Picchu in Peru. I would really love to walk the Inca Trail up there. I adore walking and seeing beautiful scenery. I would be fascinated by the history and culture.
2. The Galapagos Islands in Ecuador to see all the amazing wildlife and unspoilt landscape.
3. Cartagena de Indies in Colombia. I would very love to go there to see the historical streets and architecture.
I am learning Spanish so I would be able to practice it. This would be possible in m first three countries that I have listed.
4. Madagascar. I would really love to see the lemurs there and travel around the stunning looking countryside. It would be superb to spend time on the palm fringed beaches and go snorkeling to see the coral reef.
5. Vancouver in Canada, also I hope to visit the Rocky Mountains. It is a city that I think I would really like because of its scenic position and historical Gas Town.

I'm not an expert when it comes to places. I didn't pay much attention during my history classes although I've always been fascinated with the historical places featured in the Discovery Channel. In no particular order, I would definitely want to go to Europe particularly Rome, Florence, and Spain. Then I'd take a short trip to Scotland and Ireland because I think the highlands are a magical place to be. Since I'm in Asia, I have to go to China (I've been there already but it's just too big and I haven't seen the terra cotta warriors yet!). I also want to visit Japan because the culture looks very interesting. Finally, Egypt or Africa would be a nice place to go to just for the change in scenery.
