Have you caught anybody peeping in at you?

Yesterday, I caught someone peeping shamelessly through my window. I always work at a table near the window, and I saw this yellow-and-black head peeping in at me. His eyes were bright, and what's more, he even put his tongue out at me. That's when I yelled and scared everybody in the house. "Snake!" I yelled, and the creature vanished as fast as he had appeared. Now, I have nothing against snakes. Nice creatures, snakes! But I love them when they are far, far, far away from me! I simply wouldn't know what to do if a snake got into my house. Of course, my cats would have a great time torturing the poor thing, and I wouldn't even have the guts to save its life. So, I sincerely hope snakes keep away from my house for their own good. Caught anyone peeping in at you recently? How did you deal with the situation? Or does this incident remind you of someone or something? Cheers and happy Mylotting!

LOL too funny..and oddly enough it does remind me of something...I was peeped at more times than I can count as a child by the male parental unit of the house....and he was a snake too...just a different kind

He had positioned the mirror so he could stand outside the bathroom, behind the wall of the stairway and sneakily watch us. Phucking freak Yep..thats the sort of thing he would do to me too...Didnt matter if I was in the tub, shower, on the toilet etc..any chance he could find to peep he took it...

My mother used to have a woman come in to 'babysit' us when she was out and sometimes if the woman couldn't come she would send her husband instead. One night my sister and I were having our bath and I got out of the bathtub to get something and saw his reflection in the medicine cabinet mirror. He had positioned the mirror so he could stand outside the bathroom, behind the wall of the stairway and sneakily watch us. Phucking freak.

I had to laugh at the lead up to the snake part of thought of this awful peeping tom you know those horrid men who like to well you know, I could say the story had a happy ending, but as you don't like snakes it's not, however it is I suppose a happy ending for the poor snake as he didn't become a play thing for your cats! Obviously he wasn't a poisonous one, ewww but I am with you there I hate snakes! We have a peeper but it's only a Tom Cat he's a lovely thing we have nicknamed Tiger but our Meggy hates him and he always looks in to see if she can come out and play I guess he wants to 'court' her but she won't have it, she is a madam and looks down her nose at him and even worse starts creating mayhem if she seems him at the window but does this deter him? No, it makes him even more determined so we often see him at the door or see the nose print on the door as though he's looking for Meg!

A snake? LOL I thought you were talking about a person! LOL I had a couple of people peep at my family and I. Though we were outside in our yard. We live on a field (which belongs to my landlord) and 2 men came up to us from the other side of the fence. Yep, they were on this very field. And they were looking right at my family and I! It was kind of creepy. My husband took the initiative and said hello. They didn't really say anything and walked away after a minute or so. After they were out of earshot, my husband said they must be homeless. I asked him he could he tell? And he said because of the back packs they were carrying on their backs. I didn't know what to think, other than it was odd for these people to be walking on what is private property. After 10 or 20 minutes went by I saw these 2 same men across the street getting into what looked to be a brand new vehicle! Homeless my foot! LOL I'm guessing they were either from another country trying to see how Americans live up close and personal or they were surveying the land. But if that was the case, why the heck did the come to the backside of the house? I found it all very strange, but at least haven't been back.

Are you sure it wasn't a yellow eyed kitty cat? LOL Snakes are scary, but kitties rule this world. I don't know what I'd do if A snake got in my house. I don't know which are poisonous and which are harmless. Just to be safe, I'd keep far away from them all.

I live in a farm, so I am not surprised if I see snakes every now and then. As far as ecological niches go, the presence of snakes is a sign that the web of life in a given area is still more or less complete. Snakes are at the top of the predator pyramid, and their presence indicates the presence of animals they catch for food, which animals in turn depend on the web of life for their own food, and so on and so forth. Snakes are very scared of humans. When I go to portions of the farm which I think may have snakes, I make sure that my walk will create a lot of noise. I also bring along a stick with which I hit either the ground or other vegetation so as to create noise to warn it off and give it a chance to go away. Among the Visayans in the Philippines, we use garlic to supposedly drive snakes away from their habitat. I don't really know if it's effective.

On occasion we have had problems with cardinals--red birds, falling in love with their own reflections in our windows. Not only do they peep at the windows, they fly headlong into them and crash. Poor little bird brains, over the years I am sure some of them have gotten concussions.

Yes its not the first time that I caught someone staring at my window. I have nosy neighbours. But I don't consider it as a problem. I just mind my own business if they want to stare they stare. I am always tempted to bare my bum but my wife always stops me in time.

I am really afraid of snakes. I can't bear to touch them. Well, I have several encounters with them since we have a poultry in our backyard and it is often visited by snakes. I am sorry to say that I have killed some but what can I do, I also need to protect that chickens that we had. There was even one time that a snake tried to bite me in the face, I did not see it coming right away, when it tried to attack, I was able to move a little bit backward so it was only able to bump my face and was not able to penetrate.

i hate snakes poisonous or not, they are the one of the worst creatures or animals that have existed in this world. i just don't want to see any snake even at zoo. though they are in far safe distance from people.

It's my understand that snakes don't hear so you must have frightened it with some movement. I don't know how many snakes are poison where you live but even a small one of those can kill you or your cat. We have snakes that breed near our pond and I really enjoy them, but I leave them alone and enjoy from a distance. It's foxes that are giving us trouble right now, we are worried that they will catch one of our old house cats so we send the dog to chase them away. The humming birds often look in at us in the summer time.

Very amusing ^_^ I do have a "peeping" experience with a real person this time. Sometimes when I have to dress, I go to our laundry room to get some clothes. Most of the time, I'll just dress right there and then. One time, I have this weird feeling that someone's watching. Then from this small overhead window, I saw our neighbor (a man) peeking from his balcony. The nerve!

So far, nobody has peeped in at me. I am sure there is nobody who has so much courage. None is so strong and powerful that he or she can stare at me. I do not think this snake was peeping in. It is the nature of snakes to crawl here and there. I am sure the snake did not even know you were there. He peeped in naturally.
