Hi youless, the technician suggests me to take out my fully charged battery of my laptop if I use the DC source at home. By doing so the lifespan of my laptop could last longer. Just same as yours, mine also could last for two hours only after fully charged. So I always carry the DC cable along with me when surf net outside. Nowadays many outlets and fast food restaurant that provide WiFi facilities do provide power supply as well. So it is quite convenient for us even we are not surf net at home. My laptop would become lighter and easy to carry as well without the addition burden, the battery in it.
posting and have a nice day.

I too will just let the laptop charge while I use it.
Acording to the specification, once the battery is charged, the current will cut off for the battery.
SO it really doesn't matter. I just plug it in anyways.
Cannot imagine having to get up from my seat, and then switch it on when the battery is low. And getting comfortable again, only to have to get up when the battery is full.
Too troublesome.

Hello youless. I used to always have my battery inside the laptop of mine before it became useless. Now it is completely useless and it is taken out of the laptop. Mine can only last a few minutes now. That is why I take it out. Enjoy yourself.

Hi there youless. I have choose to keep my laptop on AC in my room as i use it as a desktop computer now and hardly go anywhere with it. I never unplug it and i think the advantage is that when a power failure occurs it doesn't shut down but keeps going as it is fully charged and so all my work is self.

It's a very common phenomena, that the battery life is shortened over time. My old battery became so bad until it could last me for less than half an hour . It's very inconvenient, especially when we need to work offsite. Therefore, I get my boss's approval to buy new battery from time to time and also an extended battery module which could extend additional 2 to 3 hours usage. But if there is any power plug nearby, I will keep it charging because I do not like to be interrupted by low power alert too.

It's especially irritating if the work I was doing is lost due to unexpected laptop shutdown after the power is low. This happened frequently before I use the new battery. The old battery run out of power so fast that the laptop shut down within seconds, before I could save my work. Now it's much better. But I have the same preference to keep the laptop plugged in too.

That is also what i do... my laptop is turned on while i am using it... and i will only stop charging when i turn off the laptop or when i will put it into sleep... i also do not like to recieve tha warning... because it can be a little stressful... especially when i am in the middle of doing something very important...

I keep my laptop plugged in to an outlet every time I use it at home as it would lower my battery cycle and it would be less of a hassle to plug it in and out every 3-4 hours of using since I use it the whole day anyway.
But to keep the juice flowing, I calibrate my battery at least once a month. When it is fully charged (which is always the case since I'm always plugged in), I remove it from charging and drain the battery zero until it shuts down on its own and I charge it back again.

Hi youless! Haven't been mylot-ing for months and it's great to see that you still are here.. :) Good for you! Anyways, to answer your question, personally, my laptop is plugged on all the time. I use my laptop constantly. There's not a day that goes by when I don't use it. I might turn it off maybe for 2 hours in 2 days. That's how frequent I use it.
However, I just use it with the cable plug on. I don't keep the battery inside. I've charged my battery to the fullest, then take it out and keep it in my laptop bag. My battery can still last about 4 hours with maximum usage. Still really good. So if you get a new battery, just take it out and use the cable plug instead. :)

I always keep my laptop connected to a/c even with the battery full. In the past, I always have a misconception that if you overcharge the battery, you might shorten the lifespan. However, I realised that the battery Laptop uses will cut of the power to the battery when the cells are full. Anyway, my standard settings will underclock my processor speed when it is using battery power.

yeah, same here. I actually charge my laptop while using it because I play online games and listen to music at the same time, and I do so like..everyday..and I wouldn't want my laptop to black out halfway when I'm in the midst of playing my game. I'm sure you wouldn't like that either...
happy mylotting!

I keep my laptop plugged almost all the time. The only time I unplugged it is when I need to take it anywhere.
I have to admit I probably need a new battery, but since I rarely take it anywhere with me these days, I'm in no rush to invest money on that. So right now, my laptop is just permanently plugged and I'm fine with that.

Hey, I learnt a trick from an IT person that, if you have to keep charging the laptop for use, you should unplug the battery out, otherwise you will ruin your battery very soon. I only charge my battery when I have to take my laptop somewhere and I will not switch on my laptop, but just charge the battery.

I think its time to change to a new battery if your battery drains faster because once the battery drains fast it just means that it is time to replace it. I think another solution there is to buy another spare battery. I had the same experience with my cellphone before so i just bought another spare battery so that i could still have it on in case of emergency but when my phone was still brand new it actually takes a lot of time for it to drain but after sometime it drained faster. I think it is also the same with your laptop, if you dont want to dispose of your battery it would be a good idea buying a spare battery. hehe

i always keep my laptop charger plugged in.
that way i dont have to deal with it dying while im using it.
plus, it always sits on my desk, so i just keep everything hooked up.
