do you know the recent moon is bigger then ever?

friends do you seen the moon.it is bigger.it is 14 times bigger then normal moon.because it is near ot the earth then normal.this situation plased after so long times.it is a big round shaped ice barg.some times it is looked like a round tube light.it is so wondering to see the huge moon.the moonlit night is fulfilled with the moon light seems amazing.

The moon is not any closer to earth - in fact, it's spinning away from the earth approximately 1" per year... it's the atmosphere that makes it look huge sometimes - sometimes here in california, we get an effect called 'blood moon rising' - if you stretch your arm straight out and hold your fingers around the moon, it looks to be 3 or 4 inches wide - and it's the color of dripping blood... alot of interesting dreams on night like that...

The atmospheric effect makes the moon look bigger when it is near the horizon. What actually happened last night was that the moon was full while at perigee (the closest point to the earth in its elliptical orbit). This is the closest we have been in space to a full moon in fifteen years. The combination of being full and being at perigee resulted in the moon's angular size being 14% bigger.
