Hi all just wanted to tell you all. I have become a new grandma. First one. It was quite a shock. My twenty-two year old daughter. Funny how things turn out. I just love being a grandma. I can't wait until she's older and can do more things. She's almost two months old now. I wanted to know what are your experiences with being a grandparent and if you enjoy it? Thanks

yeah, imagine my parents shock when they found out their 17 yr. old daughter would make them grandparents lol! my parents were 39 n 41 n my stepdad was 31 when i had my first child. they were shocked! my mom was accepting right away making sure i took my prenatals n went to my appointments, she even bought me a new car, my other one was a old junker. she allowed my baby daddy (now my hubby) to live with us. My dad was very disappointed! he didn't talk to me for 3 mos until the day i graduated high school. i think he was happy i graduated n knew i could make a better life for my baby. now i'm 27 with 3 kids n my older sis is having her first n my parents r wonderful grandparents, very typical spoiling my kids.

Yes! I love being a Grandma....much more than I love being Mum. Its such a rewarding role and there seems to be so much more time to enjoy the children.
I think what it is is that with your own children you worry about work and bills and managing and learning about being a parent and fitting in and still growing up yourself.
By the time you are a grandparent you tend to be more settled in life. A bit older and wiser and more comfortable financially.
I have 2 grandchildren at the moment...a girl and a boy.....which is set to be doubled in 6 months as 2 of my daughters are pregnant. Im also pretty sure that one of my other daughters will have a baby next year too. So....2 grandchildren this Christmas....perhaps 5 next christmas!! :-))
It really is a very special relationship we have isnt it? :-)
