Ever Had Braces?

I got braces when I was 24 years old! Oh mine....I had horrible dentition, spaces and an overbite. I kept postponing getting braces as a child and i knew I wanted to have the perfect smile at my wedding so i got them finally! I had them for two years and it was an experience, from the pain to it breaking to people staring and then to getting them out at 26 and seeing the reward of a great dentition. I can say I am happy with my teeth now..On my wedding day, i was so flashing my gorgeous teeth to the camera...hehehe Overall wearing braces was a great experience albeit the pain.

No, I never had braces. When I was a teenager I was told by my orthodontist that I should get braces. I have no doubt it was just a ploy to make more momey, especially since my dentist just recommended that I get a W-2 arch. Anyway, my mom didn't think it was such a bad idea so we planned for me to get braces. However, my father wouldn't do it unless my mom helped pay for it (yep, they are divorced), so in the end I only got the W-2 arch. To this day I don't understand why my dad wasn't willing to pay for the whole thing, seeing as he paid for my sister's braces in full. And yes, my sister and I have the same parents. Oh well, at least my teeth weren't as bad off as her's.

I had braces when I was in high school. I had to wear them for about three years. I didn't like them very much when I first got them on but eventually I got used to them. I liked being able to choose which color bands they but on them. That was kind of cool. I didn't like when the tightened them though. My mouth would hurt for at least a week after that. I was definately happy when I finally got them off. I would have to say that having braces was worth it though. My teeth were really crooked before my braces. Now they are completely straight. It's kind of amazing what they can do for your teeth.

I don't use the brace. But my friends have them. It usuallys costs them about 600 dollars! I guess it is sort of expensive! Take care!

I never had to get braces. My dentist always told us that he didn't like it when we came in because all we had was the cleanings. We never had problems with our teeth. lol

I got braces when i was in 7th grade, and i had them all the way until sophomore year of high school. i didnt hate them too much, i was actually upset when i had to get them off because i thought that i would look weird. i agree with you that the only time it was really awful was when the wires got tightened because it was hard to eat and it just hurt rally bad.

Even though I am starting to get a bit "too old for braces," I have been thinking about them a lot lately. Although, last night I finally looked up the overall expenses that could result from having braces, and I decided better of it. Although, if I could afford it I would definitely consider. I heard that getting braces can be painful, as you said, and a bit limiting if you follow all of the rules of what you can't eat.
