What does Christmas mean?

Thinking on it? It is a bog deal what does word christmas means? Except the fact that Christ birth date, is there any fact to celebrate. That belief are common in Christian-Catholic but some of our brothers and sisters who aren't...hmmmm...not only me wants to know what does it means to them. What does it means?

Christmas is a time for peace, joy and goodwill towards all mankind regardless of what ones religion is. The essence of Christmas is a gift of life, hope, peace and love. So it is a big deal and from where we I come from we go out of our way to bring out the best in ourselves and reach out to our less fortunate brothers and sisters. That is why we say that we should think that everyday is Christmas because during Christmas we share the little things that we have, we spread words of love, we forgive those who have wronged us and bring out the best of ourselves. We gather around with our loved ones to remind us what is important in our lives and its the love and closeness that we have with our family and fellowmen.
