The phrase just came across in my mind. We all want to be rich to certain extent, then we don't have to worry about this and that. But how many of us are really wanting to be rich? Or do you secretly think that money creates problem and you wouldn't want to be that rich?

A really simple answer to this. And mind you, its really a practical answer. And the answer comes from my famous phrase (Famous among friends;) )"You need lot of money to say that money is not everything in life".
Unless you have sufficient money and you are rich you won't ever think that money creates a problem.

I posted a discussion recently about happiness and the money issue came up. It isn't that I wouldn't like to be rich, I just don't need to be rich to truly be happy, just comfortable. I mean being broke is never good. I'd love to see how the top 1% lives. I'd work to get there though and I'd never forget what it is like to not have. do I want to be rich? Heck yeah! But it is not something I think is necessary for my overall happiness. Do I think more money means more problems? I think that is true i a lot of cases but I'd much rather have those problems.

And I for one wish I had to keep track of my money. Sounds like a lot of fun if you ask me.

Hello, wondericequeen.
I would not like to be a millionaire. Being a millionaire would be too troublesome for me, I would have to keep track of all my money and it would be a hard thing to do. And being a millionaire means that you are a known person. Usually, I guess. And that's too hard, I wouldn't like to be famous. I would like to rich, though. Rich to be able to buy whatever I want, without having to worry about money, but not a millionaire. And I do not think that money creates problems. Problems are created by the lack of it, and not by the excess. That's just my opinion, though .
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

Hello wondericequeen,
I think most of us dream of being rich. We don't really think what kind of trouble money can bring in our lives unless it already happened to us like all those rich and famous people. As for me, I wish of being able to have whatever I want to have and a 'trouble free' mind as long as it has something to do with money. But I do believe the more you have, the more problem will come. You feel like people befriend you because of your money and I think we have to choose between money and happiness too.

I dont believe that money causes more problems, but i do believe money causes different problems then being poor. Every aspect of anything has its advantages and disadvantages, the problems associated with having money, can be directly related to what the money is used for.

When problems requiring solutions in terms of money are highest on your mind- you feel you need to be rich or feel it would have been nice if you were rich; you could fix the problem there with that money. But once you get that rich as to fix that problem, either you get tormented by the afterthought that you could have done better things with that money[than fixing a problem] or once again start feeling that yeah you need more money to fix some more. at least it makes sense to wish for money till you fix your problems- in fact that is how I go about it. Yeah I mean I would love to find as much money as I need to fix the problem- here by problem-fixing I mean paying off my debts.Or attending to really the unavoidable expenses. And then leave a little for the rainy day.
In this business of getting rich I am somewhat guided by Kabir's couplet."Lord! Give me as much as to keep me above hunger and to feed the guest who comes to my home!" Well, this may look too modest, but followed in spirit and not the letter will really keep you "rich" and happy.

I would never think that having too much money creates problem. If I was too rich I think I would donate my extras always. I really want to be rich some days.

Everyone wants to be rich. I truly believe that money is the root to all evil. When I was little, I watch every adults around me, just for a few bucks argue and fight each others. I promise myself that I will not be like them. Now that I have grown up, I do see that money is very important in life. But I wouldn't argue over it. I really don't care about money. You can't bring it with you after you die could you? But money is still important. I am torn. I don't know what to do. There is a small part of me that want to make a lot of money so that I don't have to worry about all those bills, live a life without worries. But I don't want to make money the main object. But I need money. But I don't want to be like those people who only care about money. But I need money.
hehehe... I am so screw. Who am I??

I want to have enough money in which i can enjoy my life and buy what ever i couldnt buy till now. There are so many things which i want to buy but being a student i cant afford to buy those things. I dont want to be too rich but i want to have enough money for fulfilling my wants. I totally agree with you that if you are rich there are problems. Like many people become really jealous of you, There will be change in your lifestyle and your friends would think that he is showing off with his money, this way you will loose your friends. I have seen this types of things happening. Rich people become eye catchy and there can people who can try stealing your money. A simple life would be better in my opinion

Many of us live for today considering that there is no tomorrow. We want to be rich cos we dont have to worry about tomorrow, and want to live a contented life. Money or richness does not create problem, its being rich and famous create problem. If one being filthy rich at the same time is famous is a big problem. Then the problem arises of more do's and dont's in life.

Money is a thing which can create happiness and it can also destroy happiness.
Money is the source of happiness where to some extent it can become a blackhole of happiness.
We need money to pay bills, buy things and for entertainment.
Be careful when dealing with something called 'money'.

I would like to be rich, nothing fancy just a half million dollars so I don't become too attached but enough to have a comfortable life. Absolutely, money CAN create problems but with a good head on your shoulders, this is not a problem. Still, money can do much more good than evil in my opinon. The impoverished in developing countries starving for food would answer this question much more differently than me.

When you ask if we want to be rich, I do not necessarily associate that with money. I am not at all secret in my thinking that for many people having a lot of material possessions just creates problems. One needs a certain amount of education, common sense, maturity, or whatever in order to know how to handle materials things.
True wealth means having enough to be comfortable, but also good health, good friends, and other intangibles, like being able to look in the mirror and be happy with what one sees, and like feeling comfortable in ones own skin. I am rich enough for my own wants and needs, even though many people have much more material wealth.

I definitely would want to be rich. Who wouldn't want to, right? Sure, money doesn't buy happiness but it sure does buy a whole lot of other stuff and definitely pays the bills. A high percentage of divorces stemmed due to financial difficulties.. so I guess, not having enough money does create stress and problems. So yeah, I don't mind being rich. Just rich. I don't need the fame, though. :)

I wouldn't know if being rich actually creates more problems as I've never been there and doubt I ever will be. I struggle just to get by. I would love to be at least comfortable. You know...not worry each month and sigh with relief when we get thru another month and the rent is paid and the electric is still on and oh so grateful to still have phone & internet to boot. They are luxuries, really. I would like to have enough to fix my car so I don't worry about it as it is my means to get to work. I don't really need to be rich. I am ok with my 2nd hand furniture and simple lifestyle. I don't need to store a bunch of money aside. A little less worrying about providing the things we need and simple comforts in life would be nice enough.

Hello,Queen! No doubt money is the root of all evils. But without money life is just miserable.I am very practical. So I want some money for our maintenance and a home to live in with minimum comforts. That is all I want.To be rich or to be poor is decided by God.What He has provisioned for us let us be satisfied with that.thanx.

I prefer being stable than aiming to be rich.. Money dont create problems, its the human being that has money who creates problem.. Money is very essential in our living but when it cant handle properly it can creates problems.
