Does anyone here prefer NOT to deal with Referrals when making money online?

In my personal opinion and experience, people can't always be trusted on in the same way you trust yourself to set out and do something and see it until the end, that is unless you have some extremely extremely close family and friends. I used to be in Quixtar/Amway and that revolved a lot around getting people in the business under you and trying to convince them its not a pyramid and we're not making money off you, blah blah blah. The whole process was very aggravating and unrewarding. I tend to look at getting referrals for mylot, ptc sites, and every other money making site off the bat in the same light.
That's why I don't bother telling my family and friends about these so called sites like mylot that I go to because I know how they're gonna act and what they're gonna think. Oh they pay you huh? What if its a scam? Only a few cents a day? nah thats ok.
So with family/friends a no go, what's next? Spam people online to get them to join under you on mylot, neobux, etc.?
Even if you do manage to get some strangers online to be your referrals, whether its by word of mouth or "purchasing" them, there's no telling how much work they're gonna do or if they're even gonna do any at all for that matter. That's why I'd rather clone myself 100 times and sign all my clones up as referrals cuz at least that way I'd know how much I'm making at the end of the day, week, month at these sites.
This is one reason I stay away from PTC sites, most of the money is in referrals and finding them, the right ones, is like trying to find a job - It's a job in itself.
Does anyone see where I'm coming from here? What are your thoughts?

I agree with you on referrals. I like to know the good and bad of sites before I sign up. There are no guarantees on referrals staying active. It is a job because you have to basically sell them on the idea of signing up under you. Also, I don't want to tell my friends and family about scam sites either. I tend to stay away from that aspect of these sites.

It is good to have active referrals especially here on myLot as active referrals would be contributing an amount of 25% based on the amount that they earned. However, to get active referrals are not easy. It is easy to get people to join you but it is not easy to get them to be active...
To me referrals are okay for as long as they do not have to be purchased or our own earning is dependent on the number of referral that we have. Free referrals are always welcome and may be one day, hopefully, myLot would implement some rewards such as free referral to those active and loyal members... It is something that I have been hoping for....
Anyway, it is always good to earn something on our own as the satisfaction of doing that is priceless.
Cheers!

It boils down to your main objective in life. What is the life you really want? Is getting involved with this types of program could make a big difference to the kind of living that you want? If these systems have been rewarding to those featured while they are promoting the program/s, certainly we should face the fact that what we are being introduced of does not work for everyone. It is within a person if he's gonna make such a big difference. It takes a lot of courage and determination too. Thinking so much cannot make the water in a glass boil to make a hot chocolate. There are bunch of financial gurus out there saying their piece of how rewarding things may be but did we make a concrete plan on our very attitude towards money? Personally, I am in mylot to gather a lot of information from real/unreal people and I haven't gone through referring and I haven't have anyone from my downline. It's a matter of choice if one will sign up, persuade and get involved with them like how you do with MLM is quite more different. You may disagree but I think with the program you have identified, it's a lot more personal and well, it requires "selling". If its the success of the program nor the system that is being put in question. I tell you, no one program is "perfect" for you to really hit that "big". Look into "Grameen village phone" in Bangladesh and you'll see what I'm trying to explain. The program stays and will stay but "objectives" and trends "change".
