many avatar are used in mylot. Some are beautiful face, some are other photos or pictures. I am talking about face, many does not reflect actual person behind this avatar.
While responding a discussion avatar counts a lot. Despite knowing that may be I am not responding to the person whose photo is in avatar, still the urge of responding depends on the avatar and well as the topic.
Does the avatar have any effect on you while choosing to respond to a discussion?

Ya it really does matter for me since i see the avtar and then only reply to their posts and it really shows how much you are commited to this site and i really make it a point check on people's avatar and then reply accordingly as per their needs and i think my avatar reflects my personality in mylot and pulls people to view and reply to my profile...happy mylotting....

I don't place so much importance on the avatar when I respond to discussions. But I know some people here take avatar as the yardstick to determine whether to respond a discussion or to request friends. Before I change my my avatar I was getting many 'wolf whistle' and friend request. My discussions were simply a hit but it didn't happen now, with this new avatar. So I believe avatar does have the charm in getting the attention here.

Hello mokbul! In my case, I used my true picture on my avatar. I don't have to hide on the others person pictures. Anyway, avatar is not really my criteria when answering to a discussion. Most importantly, the topic should be interesting. Another is that i know something about the topic. I also replied to the discussion of my friends especially those who are always responding to my discussion. Although I really want to respond to all my friends discussion, but there are certain topic that I really don't have any idea how to respond to it.

i dotn look at their avatar when choosing or responding to the question being asked , it the question that matters to me as in it being interesting or not, and if i can respond to it or not. So avatar has got nothing to do with responding question but on the other hand if its thing like facebook or so i think alot of people will definately look for the avatar but i still wouldnt because as long as your a nic e na ddecent friend i would respond to you . But if the avatar is a hottie its definately a bouns! :)

Hello, mokbul.
In my opinion, the avatar doesn't play a great role in the myLotting activity. I will respond to a discussion without thinking about the user's avatar. I personally like to see users having one avatar, other than the white myLot shade that is set as default. But I don't mind it too much. I just think that an avatar adds to your image. It is like if you were your avatar. Without your avatar, you aren't somebody. I know, it sounds cold, but it is funny, because we usually notice the avatar much more than the name. There are users you would recognize if you saw the avatar, but wouldn't if you only read the name.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

I really don't consider a person's avatar as to whether I'm going to answer a discussion or not. I feel it is just a symbol of who they are and nothing more.
My avatar is my five dogs, whose faces I like much better than my own.
Happy MyLotting!

Not for me, unless the avatar in question is something insulting. I use my own ugly mug because I write honest answers, and I want people to see who's the idiot behind the writings.
I could see how some people might think twice of the answers I give if, say, I had a Joker's face; They might think I'm hiding behind a mask and maybe not being honest. But for me it doesn't make a difference when I see other people avvies.

In my case the avatar is not a critereon to decide whether i am responding to a discussion or not...i just refer to the avatar sometimes so that i know the gender of the mylotter ..by knowing the gender i am able to respond to the discussion in a better way...sometimes in an avatar i may see a beautiful face ..that doesnt mean i would go ahead and comment on that discussion ..it all depends on what she has penned down...
