How and do you wrap all the presents for your immediate family?

We used to wrap each gift with paper, ribbons and bows. I have to admit that it was very pretty all those presents sitting under the tree. This was when my son was growing up and Christmas was such a happy time. These days, we're lucky to put a bag over the gift. We usually get together with my son who's 26 years old whenever he can get over and stand around and exchange gifts. Most of the time we know what we are getting each other anyway. It's not like in the good ole days. So what do you do? Happy MyLotting! Char

Thanks for your response! Yep I know how that is. With my son being 26 and the only one in our family is my husband, I can't see going through all the bother. I personally will be glad when Christmas is over. Happy MyLotting! Char

Everything gets wrapped but no fancy bows and stuff. I usually have a good idea what my husband will get me because quite often, I have to buy it and pretend I haven't seen it I have 2 sons (one a couple of years younger than yours and one a couple of years older)who will not be here for Christmas. So, we will have a couple more 'Christmas'-s a bit later. Best wishes to you and yours.

Thanks for your response! Sounds like you have the right idea. As we get older, we tend to know what we are getting and a lot of times, this is better anyway. I'm sorry to hear your sons won't be home for Christmas. Have a good holiday! Happy MyLotting! Char

We do both wrapped boxes and bags. There are some very pretty bags out that I use for gifts that are awkward shapes and stuff. I put pretty tissue paper around so people can't just look down in the bag and see the gift.

Hello there Char Ray. I have always put them in a bag, or wrapped them with paper but this year i decided to do something special and use Ribbons as well. I have also added a wish card on every package put in an envelope and written the name of the person that must get the present on it.

This year I've wrapped them normally (in Christmas wrapping paper) - but a few years ago we decided there were so many of us we were only allowed to spend $10 per person. You had to be really inventive about the pressie and try to find something unique for the person. We had to wrap everything in plain brown paper so nobody would know who it was from, and put the recipient's name in letters cut from magazines. It was hilarious - we had an excellent time and everyone really enjoyed themselves. We did this for about three years - but now the family is all scattered and won't all be together at Christmas anyway. I loved Christmas when we had little kids - but it's different now.
