True or not - Can a pizza be a weapon? - See how

A Florida pizza delivery man was challenged by armed robbers. The only possibility to fight against them was - a hot pepperoni pizza -
He threw the pizza towards them and could make a getaway, even one of them shot towards him.
Can this be true, can a hot pizza get such a powerful weapon?

Good morning sunita64,
you are right. The mind must be in complete control of this whole situation to act within seconds so that the pizza guy only has to throw the pizza towards the robbers.
I believe he didn't think much about it, he just threw the pizza in their direction and then the natural flee instinct came into his mind and he run away.
What do you think?
Have a nice week!

lol..I would have never thought a pizza could be a weapon. They are the temperature of the sun when you get them though. I guess anything can become a weapon if you use it right.lol I wouldn't have thought about using a pizza though.I can think of one or two people I'd like to pizza though.lol j/k.

Hello JenInTN,
it's a quite funny story how you can fight against robbers.
Sometimes it's just imagination that's needed to get to those brilliant ideas. Sometimes you need courage to make the right decision to the right times.
I think he did a great job, i learned a new lessen in self-defending :-)
Have a nice day!

Agree with the post above me. Hit someone in the face with a hot pizza, it'll be nice and deadly. Plus, if it's got loads of toppings and everything, that could block their view for an even longer amount of time, in which time you could get away.

Hi thehuntedfuzz,
at least the robbers got one thing for free - a flying fresh and hot pizza :-)
I believe they will take more care next time from whom they want to rob something.
And look especially for unusual weapons of their victims ;-)
Have a nice time in myLot and don't forget to take a hot pizza with you when you walk in the night outside ;-)

Heh thanks :)
Then again, if I took that pizza out with me, I'd have eaten it long before I'd be attacked, what then? The empty pizza box? I could fit it with metal teeth and a motor and maybe it could eat their heads off :D

If those robbers have sensitive enough skin, they might have a case! Totally kidding of course. I see, in any circumstance, that a pizza is not a weapon. Those robbers need to get real.

Anything will become a weapon and it depends upon the user.

Well apparently anything can be a weapon at any given situation. I think the way he chose the pizza was a good choice, since it could inflict pain no matter how tough you are. The lesson of the story is don't underestimate the powers of a piping hot pizza.

Hello magojordan,
there are some lessons in this story. More things than we thought before could be used as weapon or as distractions. Human mind is superior in some situations than we could think of.
Perhaps the robbers learnt something from it, too. No sense to rob again, we'll never know which unknown weapon will stop us the next time.
Enjoy the time in myLot!

I cannot describe it as a weapon as it was used as a diversion. Unless he took the pizza out of the box and it was piping hot and was aimed directly into the face of the assailant I doubt it would do any harm. There were also several teenagers holding him up so unless he had several pizzas and was a quick draw and aim I doubt he would have time to accomplish this other than throw the pizzas in the general direction and run which is what he did. He was lucky he did not get killed as he was shot at.

Oh I don't think I would have thought of it myself, but if it's hot enough to burn them, they will be distracted for a short amount of time and if your quick enough then it was a smart thing to do, but I don't think I would recomend someone to do that. I would just do what the robber says and hope he don't shoot me.

If they are still really hot, it can be a weapon I think, it hurts having a really hot pizza trown at your face, especially if there is lots of cheese which can be really hot when melted . Well we just leave the pizza for eating with friends. :)

That's incredible. Um, maybe anything around could be a weapon once a guy is in danger. To some extent, it's the power of life. It was reported that a little girl was saved after trapped in the flood for more than 24 hours. What she did is just grabbing a tree. It is really amazing.

This is an unusual use of a hot pizza. I guess robbers can be distracted by a hot pizza thrown at them. Cheers!!

Hello katemeow,
unusual practices at unusual times = extraordinary capacities in his mind? Or was it just luck in the correct moment?
We don't know, we also could call it a wonder that all of the youngsters were so shocked that they didn't hunt him afterwards.
Let's wait for the next extraordinary weapon in the news in the next weeks :-)
Have a good time and Merry Christmas!

Hi cornyman,
Yes, its possible, you can throw pizzas at the robbers face and then when they get blinded you got a chance to get away from them.

Hello Tamara,
hopefully they are not really blinded ;-) This would be a little bit too much of self-defense. I think in America they could ask the judge for money because of this painful event (like one person did with McDonalds and the hot coffee many years ago and got some millions for it). Ok, this was very ironic now. Will not happen, the judge is not that blind to know this is an acceptable defense.
Enjoy the weekend and Christmas!

Hello moneymaya,
i absolutely agree with you.
The mind has many powers which we don't know yet how they are activated and why we sometimes "know" how to react within milliseconds. Seems for me like very old-aged reflexes, too.
Do you know more about these kind of mind "games"?
Have a good start in this 2nd last weekend of 2008!
