I knew EXACTLY where something was - well, almost...

I go through this all the time. I need to find something and I know where it is, but not exactly. We're going to a concert today and we have to ride the metro into down town. Well, to get out of the parking lot at the metro, you have to have a smarttrip card. We only go down town once or twice a year so I never know where this stupid card is. Friday night my husband reminded me that I needed to find it - he was pretty sure it was on my desk "somewhere". I was pretty sure it was on HIS desk, although I'm the one that put it there. SO, I first look on his desk - and it's not there. Which means it probably IS on my desk, but I can't think of where. Normally, I can tell you pretty accurately how many peices of paper down, in which stack, something is. I just couldn't imagine where it would be on my desk. That meant I had to clean if off - NOOOOOO!!!!!! Before I tackeled my desk I decided to look in my purse - I found something in my purse once that I had no clue where it would be. I knew it wasn't there though because I was POSITIVE it was on my husband's desk. I looked anyways, then went back and looked through my husband's desk - again. Finally I decided to tackle my desk... I was making neat piles of things I had to organize when the phone rings. I go to answer it and as I look down to pick up the phone (on the table right beside my husbands desk) I see the smarttrip card sitting beside the phone. UGH! To be so close but yet so far! Needless to say, my desk doesn't look a whole lot different, I'll finish it up one night this week (Maybe).
