i really love re-reading books. each time you read it you often discover something new. it also gives me a sense of familiarity and i like that feeling when i feel sad. some of the books are old classic like the little prince and little women. also a few non-fiction books like the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons. Science fiction fascinates me greatly and i'd re-read it again to figure out how they did it.

I agree. I am always finding new things that I missed the first time through. When you know the story you pay more attention to the little things and you see so much more of the story. To me a good book is one I can enjoy re reading many times over.

I often re-read books especially if it is very interesting. Some of the books I re-read over and over again are those from royalty. The Royals by Kitty Kelly (biography of the British Royal Family, their fairytale existence and scandals and controversies surrounding their lives), Diana Her true story by Andrew Morton (relating the sad and lonely plight of Princess Diana within the British monarchy) and The Royal Duty by Paul Burrell (Princess Diana's loyal aide who served the late Princess of Wales as a Butler at Kensington Palace), this book is a personal story of Paul Burrell about his life as a personal footman to the Queen until he was hired as a Butler by Prince Charles in 1988. Burrell choose to join the household of Princess Diana when she separated with her husband Prince Charles in 1992. I loved books and every chance I got I read and re-read books, infact I preferred reading rather than watching television because I got easily bored with soap operas and other TV shows except for quiz shows and beauty pageant.

The only books that I enjoyed reading were the Harry Potter series. :) And yes, I sometimes like to re-read my favourite parts, but not the whole book. I usually re-read some parts before the specific movie comes out. I like to recall some moments, even if they don't really follow the book that much now... :( PS: I haven't read the last book yet, so please don't give any spoilers! :)

Oh yeah, I love JK's style! That's what kept me glued to the books so far! Well except for the story, of course... (And I hate reading...) The Harry Potter books were the only ones I enjoyed reading.

Well I have just started reading the Harry Potter series and I like them too. I have only read the first one so far but I like her writing style and the wonderful sense of innocence in them.

I don't just re-read books, I re-read whole series of books. A first reading often doesn't draw out all the subtleties, so after a while, going back to that book gives a whole new perspective. Then there are the "departure lounge" books, things you read in a sitting to keep boredom at bay. I often re-read them with no recollection of ever seeing them before. For me, the "Discworld" of Terry Prathcett is one series I keep going back to. If I have the time left in this life, I intend to read them all again and this time take extensive notes and write a learned journal article about them. In earlier years I read all the Le Carre books several times, but I eventually got over him. And often if I find an author I like, I will read everything he wrote in chronological order, and then maybe go through them again a couple of years later. Another series I have just finished for the first time is Bernard Cornwell's "Sharpe" series, the story of the Napoleonic wars from the viewpoint of a British soldier promoted from the ranks, and finally ending up as Lieutenant Colonel. I will almost certainly read them again in a couple of years, and if the TV series (starring Sean Bean) comes back on, I will watch them all again too. Lash

I do sometimes reread books that I have already read. I have read the book To Kill A Mockingbird a whole lot of times. There are other books that I have read more than once, if I enjoy them a lot or if I learned something from it. I guess whether I reread a book all depends on the book.

i know EXACTLY what you mean. As a matter of fact, at times i do forget the plot of the story and would re-read the entire book again or just that specific part. For those parts where i really really like, i can just read and re-read that particular chapter for a good 4 to 5times consecutively.

I also enjoy rereading my books, especially my Dover Thrift Edition of Sherlock Holmes Mysteries. I particularly love rereading the Adventure of the Dying Detective, and I always enjoy reading the part in which Sherlock Holmes catches the villain off guard by pretending to be dying of some kind of illness, and the villain unwittingly admits to his crime thinking that Holmes was about to be done for. I also love rereading the the Adventure of the Crooked Man, especially the part in which the crooked man speaks fondly of his pet mongoose Teddy.

A good book is like a good friend.I never miss a chance to grab that book whenever I am left out with new books and read those interesting parts again and again. It is like hearing a favorite song without boredom. Also, the book kindles the same feeling when you first read that.

That is so true, When I was younger I even consider the books that I like best as my bestfriend. For like friend they are always there when I need comfort and to entertain me when I get bored at home. I am a bookworm and I can't live without my books. Going through my favorite pages and lines makes me feel good and lighten up the load when I am troubled. thanks for sharing your thoughts my friend.

I find it that the most interesting book which you can read over and over again is "Give yourself Goosebumps". Because everytime you read, you can choose how the actions of the protagonist can affect the ending of the story! Go to Amazon.com buy some good books!

All the time .Sometimes I like reading a book I have already read more than reading a new one. That's pretty much the reason to buy a book in the first place.A lot of people that do not read much ask me all the time why I read a book more than once and I ask them if they watch the same movie more than once. And I definitely enjoy reading the book than watching a movie any day.

I very seldom, if ever, re-read any book I have read before. The Bible is the only exception. To me the joy of reading is not knowing the outcome of the story.

I am an avid reader. I have several books that I have read over and over again through the years. There are still books that I come across that I really enjoy, and if I have nothing to read in the house - no new books or magazines, etc. - then I will re-read the book(s) I have previously enjoyed! To me a good story is a good story no matter how many times you hear/read it!

No I don't usually re-read books that I have already read because there is way to many good books out there to keep reading the same one over again. I generally take notes on the books I read and take down all the good and useful information to me so that way I can go back and look at it later in life in case I forget anything that I read about. I also write down other books or authors that books I read suggest to me so that way I can read those works as well.

I never re-read a book. I find that I remember the book too well from the first time I read it to read it again and I get too bored reading it again. I also want to read as many new books as possible, because there are so many out there!
