I'm an undergraduate and will finish my class and leave the university. Some of my classmates choose to get further education abroad and they are going to take part in
IELTS or GRE to apply for foreign universities.
That sounds a good idea,For example, you can open your eyes and learn more knowledge and other different cultures, but on the other hand, higher cost in education also bring people more pressure when entering the society.
So could you tell me your opinion about advantages and disadvantages of studying abroad?

hi,hnumeng! glad to see u have a chance to study abroad..i reckon studying abroad can benefit u a lot..u gonna learn to adapt yourself to different culture, learn the way the local people think and handle issues..and the point is u can learn the skill of living indenpently in an unfamiliar environment..as far as the disadvantanges is concerned, high cost of tuition is probably the main factor..applying for scholarship may be one solution if possible..besides, in my opinion u should consider what kind of job u would like to take part in future according to your major and life plan..if u are interested in doing research on Science, its a great way to study abroad...

I am doing my bachelors of business administration in a foreign country. I think for the coming future this is has many advantages. You get experience of knowing different people who have different way of living, different culture. I am living here in malaysia since the last 9 months and i have learned alot. Being in a foreign country you have to deal with people yourself, solve your problems by yourself. you dont have parents as a backup. I have come to know the way people think, they way they bahave, they way they react to different things. I mean i will have alot of advantages of all this in my professional life. Disadvantages of this would only be that you miss your homeland, you miss your parents, and if you are in some kind of problem there would not be people who could take you out of it. And it is also expensive to study abraod. I have students from over 120 countries in my university. That means i have friends from all over the world. keep smiling

International graduation may not help you to secure a bright job in your country , but if you are doing the graduation it will help you to settle in that country and could get a bright future also. But the expense is very much high and also you have the option of work and study, where you can earn a part of your expense.

Advantages: You learn new languages, You meet international people and thus You learn to communicate with people from different cultures- this is not an easy task to do, i must admit, other methods of teaching (this is an advantage), getting "the eyes of the globe" as you will see many common and many different things than from that country that you come from.
Disadvantages: it costs more, sometimes you get a feeling of "I wan`t to go home" and then you cooperate with other students that gets the same feeling and together learn how to deal with it, difficulties to orientate in new environment and new city, and difficulties of breaking recently built up social networks when the time comes to go back to your country where you came from.

The advantages include being immersed in brand new cultures and becoming worldly. This is a huge plus and can shape your development as an individual - no homogeneity in your lifestyle. Also, you can meet great new people. You can even obtain a better education than what you might have at home. Disadvantages include paying double, triple tuition to study and feeling isolated and homesick. Nevertheless the prosperity of studying abroad depends on your will to succeed and your resources. Good luck!

i think study abroad have much more advantages than disadvantages, you already mention the advantages by yourself and yes, money can be the barrier to study abroad.
so if you really wanted to study abroad i recommend you to find some scholarship.
other than that, study abroad give you a lot of new experiences.
culture shock maybe can make your live abroad a little uncomfortable, but if you can deal with that, it can make you more mature and wise.
i myself now studying abroad and experiencing really good times..
