I think the best Japanese restaurant in Singapore would be Nihon Mura. I have been to the Cathay and Tampines Branch. The food is not only delicious. they are also cheap. Our usual bill (two of us) is around 20 Singapore Dollars. Their sushi is only $0.99/plate. You cant take it away though. They also have their own style of getting orders. There's an area where you will be able to see how they cook your food. Their menu is written in pop cycle sticks. Then you have to place it in something like waiter's table. Waiting period is like 3-5 minutes. Its that fast! I have been visiting this resto for ages. Customer service I think is also superb by the way. They greet their customers in such a way that you will truly feel at ease.

You should try Wasabi Tei in Far East Plaza. It's a small place but the food is great. The only thing you have to watch out for is the boss's temper, he's got a whole lot of attitude, but then he has the right to be =x

Work there? No lah! My gf introduced me to the place, and I like it as much as she does. It's about 20++ per person when we go there, depending on what you order. The sets are ok but the really good stuff is ala carta.

My fave would be Kuishin-Bo, over at Suntec(gosh forget which one). Nyways it's not that hard to find, so if you are in the area and craving for Japanese food, give it a try. I have to comment though that if you love Japanese food, you have got to visit Japan and try the real deal. It's waaaaaaaaayyyy better, compared to any authentic Japanese place in your country.
