How many hours do you spend reading a book in a day?

These days I only have about an hour to read everyday. I spend most of my time online leaving me hardly any time for reading. Back in law school, I could never have enough time to read. During these hectic times, do you still have time to read books? How many hours do you spend reading in a day?

I love to read for pleasure but can't really squeeze in more than a half hour to an hour a day. When I'm not working, I get up and run down to Starbucks. I sit on the patio with my coffee and read. That seems to be the only way that I can carve out an hour of reading time. I remember the good old days when I could collapse on the couch and spend as much time reading as I wanted to.

That is my favorite way to get in some reading time too, LaurenInLA. I commit one day a week while my son is at preschool to running by a Starbucks and just reading. For a while I was taking my laptop and 'getting things done'..... until I realized that some reading me-time helps me get things done much better later.

Hi, sixclix. I do not spend near enough time reading a book in a day. I used to spend at least an hour a day reading without fail. Now I am luck if I can grab 15 to 20 minutes here or there. Of course, I could log off myLot now and then and get some more reading time.

I read about 2 hours a day right before I got to sleep. I try to pace myself, that way I can have enough money to buy another book when I am finished.

Books are perhaps the one thing without which i cannot imagine this world. I love and love and love books. Due to my job and family errands, nowadays i do not find enough time to have the lovely company of books and i like reading books better than online ones. But it is a must for me. On any time of the day, i flip through at least a few pages. On holidays, if i have a book and that is quite interesting, i do not leave it until finished. Sometimes i feel that i would have been the happiest man in the world if i have worked in a library. Actually the presence of books turns me on and i can actually feel that there are so many good things in world that i can contact with. But, unfortunately, my work relates to money more than keeping company with books. Happy reading

I am a Master, who can still be treated as a student,so my task is study.I spent 5 or 4 hours reading. Now in grade 1 as a Master, we are not very busy, lots of my classmates spend their time watching movies, chating on net.

Right. School does make you read. And the absence of school does make you "not" read. : )

Hello I am still in a medical school. For that I am still so connected with books related to my profession. I have to spend at least 4/5 hours a day with my books. That becomes a little boring & monotonous some days, but i don't see a way out.I used to be an avid novel reader during my school days. But don't go for them frequently now. Happy mylotting

Too much reading does make one lose taste for it. I always thought though that med school would require more than 5 hrs. of reading a day.

I don't do anything half way. I may not read any books for weeks but when I start I read till I end the book. It may even last several hours without the break. I prefer that, than reading every day a little.
