Do You trust Google Search results?

Recently I noticed that it takes more and more time for me to find the information that I was trying to find on Google Search. Many ebooks are about: how to grow the rating of Your website and how to appear at the top of Google Search results. Businesses pay much for this opportunity, because from millions of websites out there only 10 will appear in the first page, 10 only on 2nd page, and less than thousand will be found in total. Nobody wants to be left behind, so they cheat this search engine.
DO YOU TRUST GOOGLE SEARCH? Or are You using other search engines? Which is better then?

i think there is no cheat, because i think search engine count from "how many people with different ip opened that site in every day" and how many "backlink" for that site. if some web have usefull info but less people open that site that site will hard to indexed in every serch engine.
