What's the brand of computer that you have? i have a sony vaio laptop. I love it it's been a great computer i've had it for like 3 yrs now & not had any problems out of it. I did have to replace the cord once though because the back of it where it plugs into the computer was loose. but i move it all over the place so i'm sure that was my fault lol.

the first computer i ever had was an IBM it lasted about 10 years and i had to share it with my two sisters. i got it in 1998.
When it broke down my sister bought me a Dell Latitute laptop, it was used and i lasted about 4 years.
Now, i have an HP Pavilion laptop for 2 months now. it's brand new i wonder how long it's going to last.
My sister thinks hp is the best brand. i'll have to see.
i think if this laptop ever brakes down i'll want to try the sony vaio.

I have an eMachines desktop computer, we got it about a year ago, and I like it, it works great, its a lot faster than the old one we had. I think this one is made by gateway, and our last one was a gateway computer, it worked good, it just got old, and it was time to replace it.

I have a gateway I don't like it but don't dislike it whe I buy it, it was supposed to be really good, but using them and when I change Vista to Xp the drivers was so difficult to find them because lot of them weren't on the gateway page

I bought a gateway with Vista. And I really Love IT. I DID have some problems in the beginning and we aren't sure if its software or the hardware but I think Gateway's the best.

I use a custom built machine. It gives me the freedom to upgrade as I choose. With brand computers I've found upgrading to be a real chore. Many come with onboard sound and video cards, and also come with an insane amount of pre packaged junk that you don't need. I prefer to avoid all that, so I go custom.

Aside the fact that all of that stuff is easy to deal with... Yes, homebuilt machines are the way to go for non-Mac desktops.

I have a toshiba Qosmio. I've had it about a year and I've not had an problems with it. It does alot. I got it new as a gift from my bf when we had $ (we are broke now) but it didn't come with a manual. Everything I know how to do I've learned on my own. I should search the net to download a manual so I can get the full benefits.

Hey,
At the moment I am using an Asus laptop. I don't actually mind Asus brand laptops but I don't really think they are the best (at least I don't think my model is). I mean, I do like it because it is made actually quite strong and is pretty resistant to most bumps. But the only thing I don't like about it is that most of the laptop doesn't have that nice glossy shine over anything. Most laptops these days come with the nice silver keyboard coated with a really glossy protective layer. My laptop has just got those ordinary black keys which kinda annoy me coz you can easily ware them out. Same as the whole laptop, it doesn't have any gloss on it except for the screen. Other than that, it works like a charm :D

I have a samsung computer - I do feel bad not buying domestic and increasing cash outflow from Canada but so far, keeeping my fingers crossed, it's an okay computer. I did end up paying way too much for it. I'm hoping it lasts for 5 more years.
