Is MyLotting working?

MyLot is a social networking site that rewards its members for their participation, yet some people seem to view this as a job.
Are things really that rough out there? I mean, is the job market so bad that this is the best job you can get?
Thanks!

Hello, PrincessKitten.
For me, myLot is not a job. And I am sure that the business market will not recognize this as a job either. It is more like a hobby, in which you write for fun but earn money. Even if you are writing for the money only, they will not believe that this is a job, because you are not registered. MyLot, though, may be seen as a company. In fact, I do believe that myLot is, in a certain way, an online company. But we are not the employees.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

Yes, some of the users really rely on the money for their life. I am not like that, but I have seen users already who need myLot, for the money and for the friends. They are so attached, that I think that by their point of view it is a job.

No, i cant agree with this..though mylot is a very good site, and it pays, you cant earn so much that it can be called a job. This is a good way for earning in your spare time ..ofcourse....but it doesnt give you such a big amount that you can depend for your living on it.

Yes, I'm here to strike it rich :)
To be honest, I come here to play and have fun and even learn things that I probably wouldn't have learned any other way. I've also met some awesome people that keep me coming back day after day.
Why are you here?

many people such as myself work online for a living, I am disabled, and I cannot work outside the home, mylot brings in money, my other sites do and so does my writing
some people who are able bodied can't find jobs so they work hard at places like these to make extra money.

wintrose,
I can understand your situation, but for the able bodied, how do they even conver the costs associated with being online?....the electricity and the Interent connection mostly.

mylot is not a job for me. it is my way of relaxing. relaxing but get paid is not really bad. there are others who claims that this is their source of income but maybe they are active in other sites that pays as well. this is a place where i learn a lot too. this is a place were i gain a lot of information and for me i can help too by giving my opinion and views and share my experience. if fir others this is a job well i hope they dont get stress by mylotting.

LOL.. No, I don't consider this a job, if it was a job I would probably quit to find something that paid better.... I'm actually not active enough here to really worry about the money aspect of it. But it is good to know that mylot is one of the few websites online that actually pay people what they earn even though it may not be tons of money.I like making extra money online regardless if I'm working part-time or full time job outside of the home because it's pretty easy to do if you can find the non-scammy sites that pay.

To me it's a hobby and a very fun one too. The fact that it is a paying site is absolutely by the way as far as I am concerned. I could never consider it as a job because I am able to get out of the house and do other things.
Sadly I fear that is not the case for all of us here.

Ah I do sort of joke about it as a job but that is only if I cannot find anything fun to post about. I think this site is fun. I joined for the money I left and then came back because I needed something to help my thinking.
I cannot work because I am ill with chronic fatigue syndrome. It has become so bad that my mind is affected and I cannot think straight or manage any more. My rehab people wanted me to find some sort of mental therapy. I do read books and that tells me how bad my comprehension skills are right now but for thinking I go to mylot. I can do it in my own time and I can have some fun and exercise my thinking a bit.
I spend a lot of time hear and do not do much but for my mind it is a bit like finding my way in a fog. Hard work. It also helps me take my mind off my problems which is good as it is so easy to get depressed when you feel yourself going downhill. I sometimes feel like I have dementia but I am told I don't. It is scary and hard to get people to accept my condition.
If I could work I would be out there earning some real money and saving for a new roof but its just not happening.

Hi PrincessKitten
I don't come on myLot to earn money, the amount I earn is not going to pay my bills! LOL I have lots of fun on myLot and find it very interesting. It is an added bonus that I earn a bit of money whilst I am responding to discussions and starting discussions!

Some of the members of My Lot are stay at home mums or old age people that don't work anymore. Other members of My Lot have jobs and so they have My Lot as one of their hobbies. One friend earns her holiday money by going on sights like My Lot and other money making sites. So the cents can really add up I imagine. I go on My Lot for the enjoyment and the earnings are just a bonus for me. In my home country My Lot earnings are pocket money however in a poor country a dollar a day would be nearly the same as earnings from a job.

Yes some people do view it as a job and they get discouraged when they are here for some time. Those who have a more realistic picture of it stay longer and enjoy the little extra money they get for doing something that they would do for free elsewhere.
This extra money can be significant in some countries where the conversion rate from dollars to their currencies is high. Not a long time ago I read a discussion where the person was saying how mylot was helping her get her parent's medication every month.

Well it really depends on the person if he or she seems to view this as a job. Perhaps we can say it as an extra income but not a source of income for daily living.
Some people really do benefit here like housewives, whose prime occupation is to manage a household and to take care for their family and/or home, I think this will be a great advantage for them to enjoy theirselves a little while they were being rewarded for their participation.
Others also do make this just a hobby since you can enjoy yourself visiting here by way of talking to your friends, sharing thoughts and experiences etc.

Mylot is great! I have been active for only a few days but have learned so much. For example I learned about Webkinz today. Never heard of them. I have seen alot of people with very interesting points of view that I had never thought of. Even if mylot did not pay I can see myself visiting just to read the interesting discussions.

If you were to have a bazillion referrals here, you make make a bit more. You would make a percentage of whatever pennies your referrals are making. But as far as using this for a job goes, I don't believe you could even pay your high speed internet bill for the month on what you make here.
People love to talk about the ins and outs of mylot. I think basically it just gives us all something to comment on. I'm not sure that there are people here (especially if they've been here awhile) who actually think they can make a living here. I think most people look at it as fun with a little added benefit (some pocket change). However, I'm not sure how our small amount of pocket change translates into foreign currency. In some places, $10US is a lot of money.
