Back in Wisconsin my husband and I enjoyed fishing. Once in a while he'd bring one home to eat. I don't eat fish, but he would skin it and eat it. Mostly we did catch and release. It's a nice way to pass time together and one of the least expensive things to do these days.

HaHa...who said it is only the husband who is catching the fish?
I rarely keep the fish I catch when I fish because either they are too small yet for food or they are not the kind of fish I will eat. So those get thrown back into the water to live and be caught again by someone else. But, yes, if I catch fish that are big enough to clean and get the meat off of, those will be kept, cleaned, and cooked. Maybe frozen for another time also. It has been years since I have been fishing and even longer since I have caught anything to keep.

When I used to go fishing wen I was a teenager, usually it was my mum's cat who used to have a great dinner:)

I have never gone fishing (although I was offered to go with my uncle, aunt and cousins one year) and we kind of have a "when we get the time and when the season's right" fishing trip. I think i'd be right along with them catching it, as for cooking it, I'd be game as long as I knew how to properly cook it (don't know the first thing on how to, if you do, feel free to share) and if my fiance wanted it. As it is, he's not a fishy type person (neither in smell, or food) so that's one less thing I have to worry about.
