Today was the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert and we had a great time! Although they did the first CD as the main theme again this year, they still put on a pretty good show. I love just about everything they do and the band is just awesome. Normally, they don't play anything from when they were Savatoge, but they did one song from back then. They also got a good chuckle out of the "real" fans when they said "This is a song from our next cd, which will be coming out.... in the future." I think they're as tired of saying "soon" as we are of hearing it - it's been at least 3 years in the making...
One thing I think is really funny, is to watch the people who aren't really "fans". A lot of them will leave right after they play "Christmas Even in Sarajevo" - which is the song we all hear on the radio. The first concert I went to of theirs - probably 10 years ago - over half the audience left after that song. That's all they knew so they just left without even listening to the rest. I also feel kinda bad for them because they really don't understand that each cd is a story, and all the songs revolve around that story.
I also couldn't see spending $50 for a ticket to a concert and not even staying for half of it...

This year they're here in the middle of the week. We haven't gotten our tickets yet, but I need to do that in the next couple days! I can't wait to hear the new songs - I did the previews of them on itunes and they sound great!

My son in law is a big fan of TSO. No, I would not pay for a ticket then leave after one song. That is rude, as well as not very economical.

Fortunately for me, the woman sitting in front of me was one of those people. I think she was over 6 feet tall, so for the couple songs she did stay for I had to look around her to see the stage. It was actually kinda nice for me when she left - I think she didn't know what to expect and didn't like what they were playing.
