Has your child had an accident that wasn't as serious as it seemed at first?

Tonight, my little girl (not even 18 months old yet) ran to a recliner chair. Her intent was to run into it. She likes to do that because it's soft and stops her. She was going full speed and all the sudden started crying. I wasn't in that room when it happened, but was in an adjoining room. She was holding her head and my step dad said "She's bleeding!". My mom and I were huddled around her. Of course I picked her up right away, found the spot, and ran her to get a rag to put pressure on it. She had a gash right above her eye, about on her eye brow, and blood was dripping out. My husband grabbed his keys and we ran her to the van, figuring she'd need stitches at the rate it was going. Luckily I checked it when we got backed out of the drive way and it wasn't bleeding anymore. It had already started clotting, so I told hubby I didn't think she needed a doctor, but maybe we could get some of those butterfly stitches. So, we went to Target to find some, but the only ones they had were in a first aid kit. We ended up getting some of that liquid skin, which is better anyway because I know she would have been picking at any bandage or anything that we put on there. I was so scared when it happened, but didn't feel scared at the time. I wasn't panicked, just felt like we have to go NOW. Anyway, she went through the store and everything, she wasn't crying on the way except whined a little when I dabbed her cut. She had cut her eye on a piece of the wood that wasn't totally covered with padding on the arm of the chair. Poor baby. Do you have a story about your child?
