how trading is done in olden days?

Now a days stocks are traded in the stock market using automated screen based trading system.. but in olden days there are no computers so, how trading is done in olden days

In my reading of books about stock investing, I learned they do things through their phones. If you want buy or sell your shares, you call your stock broker. Now, you can buy stocks without a broker. Just through the websites like E-Trade or Charles Schwab, you can invest directly online.
