Need help with planning trip to Whistler, Canada

Has anyone traveled to Whistler? I'm planning a trip there in March 2009. Is there still snow for skiing and snow boarding? Is it far from Vancouver airport? What type of transportation is offered from the airport to Whistler? How many days should I stay? Would 5 or 6 days be enough for me to take lessons and see and do other things? Help, please.
