My daughter is 1 year old and she just started walking. She went to the dining room and I heard a loud scream. I ran to her and i just saw blood everywhere. I freaked out and went straight to the emergency room. Thank God they said she will be fine. She had a busted lip and swollen gum. My poor baby!

oh, how sad, really poor baby.:) my son is 1 year old and 6 months and its always happen to him too.they say its normal because he is a boy.he never still he always running around the house. every time it happen to him i just put ice cube in the small towel then sponge it to his lips or swollen part.and let him drink cold water so the blood will stop.actually every slight accident happen to our child specially when its just starting or learning to work its normal and its part of their growing up from there they can learn how to be strong and more confident.:) hope she will be ok and it will gone soon.:)

oh dear, poor little one! im happy to hear that she will be alright thats for sure! dont freak out next time! try not to panic..that means sounding panicked, looking panicked. she will hurt herself (though im talking not bleeding hurts but the general knocks on the noggin and such) and almost immediatly look to the nearest adult to judge whether or not she should be upset.
for example; if she bumps into a chair and lands on her rear...she will look to you for the reaction..if she sees you looking scared and running over to make sure her head isnt caved in..she will react like her head is caved in and start wailing even if it was a negligible bump.
instead try the "whoops! (not happy sounding but the "oh you bumped..its no big deal" type of sound) "you went boom!" and then calmly go to her and offer a bit of soothing and encouragment to try whatever it was again. usually when you are able to maintain an "its ok it wasnt a big deal" attitude..the baby will react the same way instead of freaking out herself.
course that only applies to things you see and already know are no big deal. if you see blood its an instant panic mode for you both i know.. but TRY to appear calm lol!

Don't feel bad. My son was around 7 months when he pulled himself up for the first time. Then banged his head on the coffee table. Its common for accidents to happen when they are learning new things.
