I am from sanatan dharma popularly known as Hinduism and despite being the oldest known religion to mankind,we read from our religious texts that all religions are equal and there is just one God.The paths to reach him maybe different.we are also taught to respect all religions, and thats the reason many religions in India coexist.I would like to know the religions which convey the message to its followers that they the most superior and they call names to the non-believers of their religion.

i think that is only what people says because there is no way that a religion can be greater than other. if one religion says this then i think that religion should not be followed. religion is just the faith of people and in no way the faith can be measured .

thanks for your honest and bold opinion, but i am not sure if the religion says so or the insane people within them say so.its hard for me to beleive that any religion can teach such stupid things.because there cant be different gods for different categories of people.i guess that few followers at that time might have started all such things to market their religion.

Iamsree, if you find a person who is surprised, shocked, amused or offended at someone professing some particular religion is the best or the only truth, then know that person to be a Hindu [that includes Buddhist, Jain, or Sikh] or a freethinker of the modern world.

Most Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Judadism, Islam, and derivatives thereof) teach that their God is the only God that may be worshipped. I remember being told as a little girl by my Christian parents that Christianity is the correct religion, and everyone else's religion was inspired by fallen angels trying to trick us away from God (or some such nonsense). I'm an atheist now, so none of it means anything to me, anymore. However, the contest for the 'right' religion between members of different religions always strikes me as funny.

Hello aakay4u! You know what, I like Hinduism beliefs.I do believe too that even if we have different religions, the bottomline is that we are prying with the same God. I am a Christian - Catholic and as a Catholic we are given freedom to choose what we want to do. I know there are Christians who said that their religion will be the one to be save but I respect their beliefs and I respect all religion.
