Acting is not mimicry, it has been said. May be or let it be for sure. One cannot ignore how an actor in the role of a physician tries to find out his/her known physicians and tries to learn what are their expressions. Yes, the actor does this to create a character which the spectators will accept as a faithful one.
Presently there is great scope for the persons who want to excel in the small and big screen and also there is stage for the plays. Will you please tell me
1) what is the difference between mimicry and acting basically,
2) if and how the persons acting for big and small screens and for the stage make the differences in their functions ?

according to me, mimicry is a blunt copy of someone's direct actions/activities,
whereas acting is basically the manifestation of art within oneself. acting is
creative and does justice to the character and never a copy of a person.
stage acting exposes the character directly to the audience,it is interactive and
gives immediate results, whereas the exposure of the characters on the screen does
not have direct involvement with its audience.
