If I can sing well, I can choose either way, but I would prefer more of joining in a band as it is easier to cooperate with some others who are in the same line. What do you say? Take care, youless.

It is ok to always make a decision alone, but have you ever thought that two heads are better than one?

there are pros and cons on both, I would probably have both. But I would take my individual singing career more seriously. Its more complicated if you are in a band, you have to consider all of the members whenever you set schedules for gigs or practices. Companies and organizations also assumes that if you are a band, the professional fee is higher than if you are just an single performer.

or both at the same time. the band can be just a hobby with a few gigs on the side but my work- meaning real source of income- would be as an individual singer

If I can sing well, I will just show it off to my friends in Karaoke. LoL. I am shy to be in the public, and therefore, even if I have outstanding singing capability, I do not like to be a singer or a star. Possibly because it's my introvert nature since childhood. I am a single child and do not have any siblings. I just played once a while with my cousins when they visit us during school holiday.

Really? No wonder we have a lot of commonalities, for being the single child in the family. I bet your parents must have taken good care of you. Most people think that single child is spoilt. But my parents didn't pamper me, and they raised me with virtues and principles. Besides, most people think that, to be the only child in the house, is very lonely. But I seldom feel the loneliness, because I could play on my own. In fact, my imaginations and innovations is formed while I am playing alone with my toys. But I admit that I am a little introvert due to this. Hope you are not having such issue

If I can sing well, is it mandatory that I use it for financial gains? I shall sing for myself and my family and friends. Their praises will be worth much more to me. I'd like to keep my talent as a hobby, not as a profession. Making it a profession will lead to constraints and I don't like to be constrained in something which I like to do.

What is so very surprising in it, I say? Do you think that all people should be running after only fame or money?

Well, I wouldn't mind joining a group of A Capella singers.
I have always enjoyed A Capella.
Just couldn't find people to form a group to share the interest.
It would be nice if I could be in such a group.
he heh he...

Oh well I love music but cannot sing .So IF I can sing well I would definitely want to be a solo singer and make my mark in the music world, rather than be a part of a band......... .......Heee youless,is this just a discussion or are you planning to give me a boon by waving some magic wand?????

I would prefer to sing with a big band like the ones in the 1940's.That way I don't need to dance and sing. And I would sing Cole Porter and Irving Berlin. And Gershwin

interesting question. it's great to be an individual singer if i can sing really well.it's also nice to join in a band because you can work with other great singers. it's hard to choose. haha, maybe both?

I think i will do it on my own, being individual singer is more easy to do for you dont have to ask other opinion of your bandmate, or group mate. And also it avoids conflict between members. ive been a funatic of boybands but mostly they are disbanded. I am sad about it but it does happen for they dont agree with each other members. Being individual singer will give you more opportunity and more power to show case your talents and skills.

Hi,youless
well,it's a very interesting hypothesis. If I can sing well,I would like to join in a band with my good friends.5 of my best friends can play some musicial instruments, the piano,guitar,bass,drum......and they always dream that they can have a band, but cause a lot of reasons, they cannot. So,if I have a beautiful singing voice,I'll try my best to band it!

i would definitely go solo. there just seems to be way too much drama in groups. i would rather not deal witht that crap.

My husband and I are both professional singers/musicians. Although he's a much better singer than I am! We both enjoy being in a band. It's fun to share the stage with friends who are good musicians as well. It can be a big pain though. Sometimes there are personality or musical differences that are hard to deal with and someone has to leave to keep the peace. Most of the time you can stay friends but sometimes feelings get hurt and there's a lot of anger. That's the most difficult part of being in a band.
No matter what the problems, I think it's more fun to be on stage with a good group of fun people rather than be up there alone and have to carry the whole show by yourself.

I think i would like to be an indiviadual singer... it would be nice to be in a band... but then rehersals can be quite difficult since there are a lot of people to consider... but if i am on my own... i would just follow my schedule or the one set up but the people responsible for it... aside for that... when it comes to being paid... i don't need to share the money will be just mine...

If I can sing, I would stick to singing in the bathroom. I do that anyway...and of course, you don't need to know how to sing for that. ;)
Cheers and happy Mylotting

singing is my passion..i can say that i sing well..I've been with a band and had made it a living for years till i decided to quit i also tried being a solo singer...pros and cons with this is that if you are with a group pf band the income will be less than what you should have when your on solo..while if you have your band with you, performing makes it more fun and exciting each time we play..I'd rather have a band with me than to be a solo singer
