Oh yes I am sure it would make you appreciate music more in one way, but i have friends who are musicians and sometimes I feel a little sorry for them because they always listen for the technicals of the music and sometimes just done hear what sounds good, I watch music being made and the things they call mistakes sometimes are the very things that the people like me who nothing about music quite like...but in another way i am sure it does make you appreciate music more.

Yes I think that playing an instrument totally makes you appreciate music much more. I play bass and guitar and try to sing and write lyrics as well. When you listen to music and play an instrument you do understand what had to happen for that song to be created and you understand the work and creativity it takes to actually make songs. Trust me it's not quite as easy as it sounds on the radio that's for sure.

Good question!
I actually think the other way though, my appreciation and love of music inspired me to learn to play the bass and guitar, and now I run a music social network along with doing band promotions, radio shows and podcasts and music videos.
Keep Rockin!

Yes, I think it really does.... if nothing else, it gives you a better UNDERSTANDING of music. I was raised playing instruments and singing - this is something my little girl has picked up from me, too, just by me singing around the house. It's given her a new dimension to her personality as well... she has fun singing and dancing around.... It's obvious she TRULY APPRECIATES music!
